Trump says he hopes economy crashes in next 12 months: ‘I don’t want to be Herbert Hoover’

Former President Trump said in an interview that aired Monday that he predicts the U.S. economy will crash and that he hopes it does so within the next year.

In the interview with Lou Dobbs, Trump, the current front-runner in the GOP presidential primary race, explained that, if he were elected again, he would not want to serve a term similar to President Hoover’s — who took office when the economy was stable but later oversaw the start of the Great Depression.

Why doesn’t he want to be Herbert Hoover? Hoover, the Great Humanitarian, probably saved more lives than any other person in history.

I read a pretty good biography on Roosevelt about two or three years ago. I can’t remember the author it was a two-volume thing. If he mentioned anything about Roosevelt admiring Mussolini, I don’t remember it.

The main thing Trump could’ve done had he had a strong Attorney General was to invoke antitrust laws to break up the medical insurance cartels, and the medical healthcare cartels. By doing so he could’ve actually lowered the cost by baby 80%. That would’ve freed up a lot of money in the budget to pay down the national debt and maybe even balance the budget although we know how congresses on things like that. But the effort could’ve been made, and if he done it, he would’ve been the hero of all time. Healthcare expenses have got to be controlled or that is our downfall.

Medicare taxes bring in about $460 billion a year and we spend $1.5 trillion a year that’s not sustainable and now with interest expense up the cost of the interest on the debt is going to go up to about $1 trillion from about 390 billion just two or three years ago

Do you really think Trump is going to tackle that and do anything about it? I had hoped I supported in 2016 and 2020 but I have a lot of debt right now but what he’s going to do. For the moment he is running as the martyr candidate.

I don’t blame Trump at all.

*****************

Trump appointed people that every Republican administration going back to Nixon would’ve appointed. However, they all became “bad Trump picks” when they weren’t MAGA or conservative enough.

Trump also tried to bring in some outsiders, non partisans, & non establishment types, but those efforts were thwarted by the alphabet security agencies not giving clearance and the Senate led by McDipShit not willing to confirm appointees.

Trump or any other future Republican President has to work with the material that is available to stock an administration.

Unfortunately..... It’s slim pickings.

Yes. Trump only had evil people to choose from.
People, who don’t care if Americans die by the masses, as long they become unworldly wealthy. This is where America is now.

This is bad. I get where he is coming from but this is Trump saying stupid stuff again. He should know that this will be played by the left as “Trump being all about Trump’s ego”.
For Gawd sakes, just stay with positive solutions

For full context, the question Trump is answering starts at about 25 minutes in this interview.

It’s not terrible, but it does give the impression that he’s more concerned with his legacy than the pain of the American people. Of course, if he did all the things he immediately promises after this faux pas, he wouldn’t have anything to worry about.

Very interesting. In the early to mid 1930s way before the war broke out there were a number of world leaders who actually were admirers of Hitler and Mussolini. I believe time magazine name Hitler their man of the year in the mid-1930s before the war broke out.

Isn’t it amazing how show many leftist embraced fascism, and even Stalinism superficially, but did not bother to look deeply into either one to see the horrors involved.

If the economy crashes, it’s going to be for several reasons, and some of the groundwork was certainly lead by Trump.

That's exactly what the libs are saying. And as the situation worsens, they will say it even more. So it doesn't matter what Trump says, he will be blamed regardless of the facts.

No, if you are middle class, don’t run up your debt in the face of a Great Depression scenario, because the central banking system is rigged in favor of the banksters - they are billionaires who own the government and control the central bank.

It’s the same as the casino always winning. They will literally kick you out if you start to win too much. There are many ways the banksters can screw you when the economy crashes.

1) they can get the government to bail them out with your tax dollars.
2) they can get the government to reset the currency and adjust your mortgage principal. Don’t think they can’t do it.

Remember the stories of Germans suffering such extreme currency inflation that people were taking wheelbarrows of cash to buy groceries? If everyone had a wheelbarrow with $1million in cash, then that would favor debtors, right?

Because their mortgages would also have devalued, right? - everyone could just take their wheelbarrow of cash over to the bank and easily pay off their $400k mortgages!

Wrong! It never works that way because the banker class owns the government - they simply won’t let you use that devalued currency to pay off your debt.

We hear that all the time. Instead of popping off Trump needs to watch his mouth. That is probably the biggest complaint Trump supports have.
