Democrats are not enthusiastic about the prospects of President Joe Biden, 81, facing former President Donald Trump in presidential debates this fall.
The apprehension sheds light on fears about Biden’s diminished physical and mental abilities, as polling shows Americans worry about Biden’s decline:

The problem is that Trump, by not debating in the primaries, has handed Biden an excuse to not debate him on a silver platter.

Trump should invite a bunch of schoolgirls to the debate to throw Joe off.
What’s the point? By now everybody already knows who they are.
No worries. Joe is a vegetable, everyone knows it. Joe doesn’t have to debate Trump. As long as his opponent is Trump, that’s enough for Biden voters to stick with their vegetable.
I haven’t watched a single debate so far.
But a Trump/Biden debate?
That’d be priceless. I’ve heard great things about how Vivek is a good and solid communicator. I’d like to see him publicly embarrass and humiliate Biden in a debate.

I don’t see any equivalent with debates concerning the primaries and the general election.
Trump is already ahead in the polls. It will be Biden’s loss to not do them.

I must disagree. Most people understand why Trump is not debating. When you have a 20-30 point lead you don’t debate. If Traitor Joe doesn’t debate most will think he won’t because he can’t. They will try a rig job with a Chris Wallace and when Trump turns down the trap they will claim Trump refused to debate but most will see right though it. Either it will not matter. 80-90% of the vote is already locked in at this point. It will come down to MSM’s ability to sell lies and abortion.

That’s true. Biden didn’t even campaign in 2020. He just sat in his basement. And when he did show up to speak somewhere - he maybe had 30 people there.
Trump meanwhile had thousands. Every time. Every where.
There will still be debates whether Biden shows or not. If Democrats think that could be a plus and they are that concerned they need a new candidate.

Yeah, but I just read Biden co-opted our intel agencies, demanding
a new “debate talking point,” like they did for Biden’s 2020 debate.
The 2020 “intel talking point” (about his Blessed Surviving Son, Hunter),
was so effective, Biden became a “shoo-in” and “snared 81 million votes.”
Of course Biden’s getting a soulful tremble in his voice when he said
Hunter’s salacious laptop was “Russian propaganda” really, really helped.
That tremble in Biden’s voice was well-practiced.....
frequently used on stupid Delaware voters.
After Biden’s first unscripted remark, President Trump should request Biden’s handlers come on the stage and escort “The Big Guy” back to the home. Or he could say the FBI just arrested Hunter, and he’s begging for “The Big Guy”.
