Steve Bannon, ex-aide to former President Trump, said Monday that he anticipates a big fight over whether GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley should be the former president’s pick for vice president in the general election.
Bannon advised strongly against Trump, who remains the GOP front-runner in the race, choosing the former South Carolina governor to be his running mate.
“One of the fights we’re going to have, a big fight, it will take place in the spring, will be — they’re going to try to force Nikki on the ticket,” Bannon said on an episode of the “Human Events Daily with Jack Posobiec” podcast, first highlighted by Mediaite.

Non-starter... no “big fight” is necessary.
hehehe... big fight as in... Hell no.
trump will pick an outsider... he has to do that.
and they must be ruthless.
t
Trump has already said he wouild not pick “birdbrain”. Leave it to The Hill to try and keep this lie alive.
I see no evidence that Trump would pick her unless there is some backstage scam with big money republicans that I haven’t heard about. I’d still vote for Trump but Nikki is a huge check minus against him. Plus it puts a huge bullseye on his back
IIRC-—Trump FOLLOWED a person in the WH who was NEVER eligible to be there in the first place-—
WHY would he EVER pick NIKKI???
‘The Hill’ LOL. It is just the GOPe/leftists trying to position their RINO, just STFU already as these people are in their own echo chamber.
I predicted this a while back, after the media started pushing Haley.
What Trump needs to realize is that you are not going to win any independents or soccer moms or anyone else if he picks her. The media will turn on her and Sarah Palin her in a NY minute.
If you must tick some check boxes, then take Kari Lake instead
On the flip side, the GOP has also avoided selecting VP candidates who are losers in the presidential nomination process. They always prefer to select someone who was NOT a candidate in the current election cycle. I believe George H. W. Bush (1980) was the last person who was selected as a VP candidate after losing in the presidential primaries. This would weigh heavily against Nikki Haley even aside from all the other baggage she brings to the table.
Usually the threats have to do with withholding of support. The promise of support is not credible. They would rather have Trump lose with Haley as VP so she will be positioned for ‘28, than risk their whole edifice be toppled. No deal!
and NOT related to romney or pence. the only reason the neoCON arm of the uniparty would approve of her is to kneecap PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP when or if she had the chance. now vivek, for all of his not so good qualities, would be a viceprez to be reckoned with. he doesn’t take qwap, can dish it out quick...and isn’t as “establishment” OR “outside the mainstream” as the lefty media tries to portray him as. my fav Trumpism applies here... “we’ll see what happens”.
1. Noem has been a GOP political figure for years.
2. Kari Lake is an outsider and a loose cannon. I'm not even sure she's trustworthy under any circumstances. I don't see the GOP leadership selecting a former Obama donor for a VP spot under any circumstances.
3. Lake is already running in the primary for the GOP in the Arizona Senate race this year.
The VP pick is life insurance.
That means they should be so awful that nobody dares assassinate you.
;-)
I am aware they will try to force it but this is where Trump will have to show his chops about draining the swamp. He lets them force her on the ticket as VP is about the closest thing to a death warrant Trump could pick.
Trump didn’t give up so much, endure so much, to succumb to this ridiculous obvious proposal to get rid of him and install their DS operative.
If he actually did this, I suspect I would not be alone in simply staying home on election day.
It’s a non-starter in the sense that everyone here will vote Trump regardless. There will be a lot of angry complaining posts, but nothing beyond that.
Bannon is talking about the GOPe fighting Trump to either accept Haley as his VP or not receive funding from the GOPe. Trump will reject their threats, because he doesn’t need the GOPe for support. End of story, and no we do not need to wait & see either. It will take place, but Haley will not be Trump’s running mate.
If the GOP want Haley to be the frontrunner for 2028, putting her on a losing ticket is the worst idea imaginable.
Losing presidential candidates rarely get another shot at winning a presidential election. Being a VP candidate on losing presidential ticket means the end of your political career. Just go back over the last 40+ years and see how that has played out:
1984 -- Geraldine Ferraro (D)
1988 -- Lloyd Bentsen (D)
1992 -- Dan Quayle (R)
1996 -- Jack Kemp (R)
2000 -- Joe Lieberman (D)
2004 -- John Edwards (D)
2008 -- Sarah Palin (R)
2012 -- Paul Ryan (R)
2016 -- Tim Kaine (D)
2020 -- Mike Pence (R)
Just look at that list and think about what happened to these people after they were on a losing ticket in a presidential election. You'd be hard pressed to find a more insufferable bunch of misfits and losers on the national political scene.
Anchor Baby Nimarata can’t be POTUS.
Next question.
No Tim Scott, no Vivek, though they're fine for the cabinet, and obviously geography eliminates DeSantis, but under no circumstances short of God sending a telegram saying, "Thou shalt chose her," should he choose Nimarata. Picking up three extra This Old House watchers in Dixville Notch at the cost of losing the entire south plus non-southerners like me who want nothing to do with vile GOPe scum is just not worth it.
