What is about Chick-fil-A that absolutely drives so many on the Left to push for its destruction via periodic spasms of boycotts (that typically fail) or imposing abusive government regulations like that proposed by New York State Assemblyman Tony Simone?
Simone is a freshman member of the Empire State's legislature, representing a district that encompasses "Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown and part of the Lincoln Center area in Manhattan," according to his official website.
For whatever reason, Simone became deeply concerned about the fact that some Sunday travelers on the New York Thruway (NYTW) might not be able to get their lunch or dinner at one of the Chick-fil-As operating Monday through Saturday at six state-managed rest stops.
"It’s Sunday, Christmas Eve … thousands of New Yorkers are traveling to their families to find restaurants at rest areas across the state. The Thruways are meant to serve New York travelers first. I think it’s ridiculous that you’re able to close on Sunday, one of the busiest travel days of the week," Simone told a local New York media outlet.
"You know, we get hungry when we’re traveling. We may not like our brother-in-law or sister-in-law’s cooking and wanna get a snack on Christmas Eve," the Democrat Assemblyman noted. "To find one of the restaurants closed on the Thruway is just not in the public good."
So Simone's bill commands Chick-fil-A to violate its own well-known practice of not opening its stores on Sundays so that employees are free to worship or not, as they choose, to spend time with their families, and get some well-deserved rest.

I’ve driven on the Thruway before. As I recall, their rest stops also have convenience stores.
For what it’s worth, it is illegal for the government to operate retail/food services within the right-of-way of the Interstate Highway System under current Federal law. The only reason those service areas even exist on the New York State Thruway is that the highway is covered under a grandfather clause in the Federal statute because the service areas were in place before the law went into effect in 1960.

It is none of the Lefts fn business! Chick Filet is entitled to run their business any way it sees fit. Obviously Chick Filet has a contract to run these stores for the state and obviously in that contract are operating hours that New York agreed to.

I grew up in the South when Blue Laws kept everything closed on Sundays except one Junior Food Store. Some people have no clue.
My impression from various sources is that a convenience store and multiple food outlets will be at the locations.
It doesn’t appear to be a matter of driving up to a simple rest stop and the lonely Chick-fil-A being closed on a Sunday.
But, you are ignoring the fact that CFilA openly supports and funds drag queen shows for kiddies.
It has been years since that food outlet has supported any form of Christianity. They support grooming and pedo — openly.
Let them get sued into the ground by their own kind.

Those freeway rest stops are open seven days a week, if Chick-fil-A wants to be at them they should also be open seven days a week. On their own private property, they can do whatever they want, public property they need to be open or else make room for another business that will be open. As a past frequent traveler of those Rest, stop, they need to be open.
It’s as much about forcing a company to violate their Christian beliefs as anything else

I was on the NYS Thruway before and after Christmas this week. Along with the Thruway rest stops, there’s exits for towns and cities. No one is going to starve to death if Chick Fil A is closed on Sundays.
In fact, take an exit and hit up one of the mom and pop restaurants in town. You’ll probably eat better, help support a family, and get to know more of NY other than I-90.
We are on two different sides, you are supporting the homosexuals and I am opposing them.
