Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said someone reported a fake crime at her home on Monday, the latest in a series of apparent swatting incidents that have targeted her.
“I was just swatted. This is like the 8th time. On Christmas with my family here. My local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this,” she said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Greene added that she appreciates the local police and her family is in “joyous spirits” c toelebrating Christmas.

Ironic they can ID people in the rotunda taking pictures with their cells but not those doing this.
At some point this is going to have to be VIOLENTLY stopped, or it will not stop at all.
Let me be crystal clear: the swatter needs to end up shot dead, and that story needs to go viral, accompanied by official Law Enforcement warnings that swatters have home addresses, too.
IP phone calls are difficult to trace (not impossible!) without comprehensive network surveillance. Caller ID is easy to impersonate for the technically adept.
The local police do not usually have the expertise or facilities to trace such calls. For certain federal agencies, it is almost a trainee exercise. They can catch them if they want to catch them.
And I’m nobody. But if I can imagine things...
Imagine if the US military got a false alarm at NORAD 8 times in a row. They would think of something. Nobody Federalfis trying to arrest the bad guys, and charitably, the cop response seems uncreative.
The only problem is that is when it won’t be.
Not because mtg went nuts but because she’s under attack.
Weird how everyone is upset that “swatting” takes place, but no seems to question the existence of militarized, Seal-Team-6-in-short-pants police, which are always the tool.
That’s what they want.
Then, some cretins actually attack her family and kill them for fun.
Never underestimate the depravity of some semi-humans.
The FBI is the on the case!. They’ve been looking carefully at people who attend Latin Mass, or parents who go to school board meetings.
They’ll find their man!

Not ever being a criminal I don’t know what “swatting” If it’s phone calls, shut down the phones. If it’s bodies herding in your yard, get a trained attack dog to release.
And if you release dogs on the police they will shoot them. Actually they may if you don't release them.
How a SWATting works is someone calls 911 and reports that someone at a certain address has flipped their lid. Murder, rape, hostage taking, talking back to mothers, it is chaos! Get the police there right away!
The police show up, usually in full tactical gear because they expect to arrive to find a fire fight in progress. The bewildered home occupants are subjected to the police at minimum pounding on their door, at worst a dynamic entry with tear gas and flash grenades.
People can get killed. People have been killed. In my humble opinion people who do this kind of thing should be charged with attempted murder at the least.
Swatting is when some claims to be you, calls 911 and reports a false serious situation with weapons, in the hopes cops will bust in and hurt the target of the swat.
They hope the unsuspecting people believe their house is being broken into, they arm themselves to defend, and then the cops shoot them and their pets in the heat of the moment.
The Leos are in on it. Either that or they are darn stupid!

They don’t use traditional phone lines that are easy to trace.

Cops were searching for things, even under my blouse.
They instead use cell phones which are easier.
However, you don’t get a physical location like a land line.
You get the phone number and the cell tower area.
Now if they can access the GPS location of the phone; you’re pretty much toast unless you can race away from the place you actually MADE the call from.
The average person would get themselves caught.The average person wouldn’t know what police department to call or what city their target is in. They wouldn’t know to hide their location or even what to say to convince an officer something was actually happening.
These swatters are using uncommon knowledge.
I am suspicious the swatters are using government databases, training, and tools.
There is probably good odds the swatters are government employees with access to that stuff. Either rogue employees doing it themselves (or handing it over to outside groups)... or an off books organization stirring up trouble for a political benefit.
And your assumption of people not knowing urban terms relating to crimes not being criminals, is just plain flawed.
