Memphis — An After School Satan Club plans to begin offering activities to children at a Tennessee elementary school following Christmas break, officials said, and the move immediately proved controversial.
The Satanic Temple plans to host the club at Chimneyrock Elementary School in Cordova, news outlets reported. It will begin meeting on Jan. 10 in the school's library and run through the spring semester, according to an announcement Tuesday posted on social media.

Still remember the prayer before lunch in first grade public school.
God is great,
God is good,
Let us thank him for this food,
Amen
By second grade it was gone.
(Pssst pssst pssst)
OH! Never mind....
Is it B.Y.O.B. or do they provide refreshments?
A photo of the teacher sponsoring the club would be revealing.
When I was a kid a few of us jocks woulda just waited for their little group to adjourn and beat the devil out of ‘em.....literally.
“A photo of the teacher sponsoring the club would be revealing.”
It does not appear that a sponsor is required in order for a non-profit organization to meet after hours at the school
When the German Bund attempted to hold a pro Nazi parade in NYC in the 1930s, Jewish-American WW I war veterans and others confronted them and the parade never happened. Those veterans would not tolerate open evil in their city and showed how its done.
They still were able to hold a mass rally in Madison Square Garden in 1939.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

May our Heavenly Father have some interesting events in store for these sick, wicked people.
If the school already has a mohamedan club, wouldn’t a ‘satan’ club be duplication?
Ah, that old Christmas song...
Here comes Satan Claus,
Here comes Satan Claus,
Right down Satan Claus Lane...
True dat.
1st Amendment! Gotta love it!
There was an observation made, somewhere, that Christians are sll anout the 1st Amendment, when theirs is getting stepped on, BUT!, when it comes to other Americans practicing THEIR 1st Amendment rights, the Christians get all uppity screaming, “But, but, but, thats not what we meant!”
AND...the comment anout beating the devil out of them ...and when their big brother comes for y’all, ya gonna run or take your lumps, because you are just as wrong !
You are a big “L” libertarian, aren’t you.
Right now I’m eating lunch at an Ikea about a mile from the school. The area is largely African American so the club will not likely be received too well.
We’re not in midtown where all the freaks go.
where are school clubs mentioned in the first amendment?
Uppity Christians?
You would have done the devil’s work while thinking you were opposing him.
“said the board would explore legal alternatives to “mitigate the situation.”
I worked in a Good News Club at a local school for many years. Our school district required that we have liability insurance. That extra expense pretty much kept other groups away.
