Venezuelan migrants are flooding to a posh Colorado ski resort town with no homeless shelter after hearing rumors that there are plenty of jobs to be offered.
Major U.S. cities are seeing huge influxes of migrant arrivals and Denver - with 2,600 migrants in the city's shelter system and 200 on the streets - isn't the only Colorado hotbed affected by the crisis.
Carbondale is a home rule municipality in Garfield County, Colorado, with a population of around 6,434. The town is a 30-minute drive away from the high-end ski resort town of Aspen - located in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
Described as a small town with a big heart, the expensive community is overrun by at least 125 Venezuelan migrants who travelled to the remote mountain neighborhood after hearing word that there are plenty of job opportunities on offer.
However, the town is known for luxury ski chalet homes and is already facing a housing crisis - so the new arrivals have been left with no choice but to sleep outside in their cars.
The cheapest property currently on the market in the small town is $720,000 - with most houses valued at roughly $2 million, according to Zillow.
While there are small homeless shelters nearby in Aspen, they're usually overrun and have long waitlists.
Even as the weather drops to lows of 10 degrees at night, migrants are piling up to sleep in the vehicles they drove to the mountain town.

SOMEONE LOST IN DETAIL ALL THE SKI RESORTS IN VENEZUELA
WHAT SKILLS COULD THEY POSSIBLY HAVE?????
That’s actually Mount Sopris in the background. Aspen is another 30 miles away.
FYI, live near here, Carbondale is a nice little town, or has been so. The venzies were pretty much dumped here (from Denver?) . The work may be in Aspen, but there is no housing available for anyone. Regular people commute from as far away as Grand Junction. On one single I70 to CO 82route. Insane.
WHAT DRIVER’S LICENSES????
WHAT INSURANCE????
MY vehicle insurance in Nevada==39% of the premium due to illegals.
Back when I was a skier, I was also living with a very modest income. I helped lead a youth ski club at a local resort and got a free annual pass, for me and my kids. Almost always bought used ski’s. On occasion the security guy let me poke around the lost and found for gloves and goggles.
My vintage Columbia ski jacket is over 30 years old. I wore it five years ago the last time I went.
That's nothing, I have 30 year old ski coats that I now use for snowblowing or snowmobiling in the thicket woods :) I think I just finally threw out my old CB Sports pullover from the early 80's.
“ The RATS should have had a plan on what they intended to do with all of these foreign invaders and not just invite them in thinking Americans would give them a big hug and invite them into their homes.”
They didn’t think that. They brought them here to create a population for fraudulent votes, to replace the white majority population and to create a demand from the pope for government to “do something” about it.
And not many of those calling for government to fix it are going to like how government fixes it. And amnesty will just be one part of the very nasty fix…a fix that will do nothing but give the political elites exactly what they want.
This one in particular is named after the one in PA, which was the subject of the recent library book discovery.
That was the link-timing value.
As long as you brought up that there are others, the one in IL is at "X marks the spot" for the total solar eclipses ~ 7 years apart, so there's that one for its news-timing value.
Carbondale ritzy?
It’s where aspen area skiers stay to save money over aspen or snowmass etc
Thx.
I’ve been to Aspen........on skis.....
So way up there, it looks really high.
I always assumed it was a mountain.....LOL.
Excellent news...
They deserve what they voted for...
“there are only wage shortages.”
Because $15/hr. to flip burgers is paltry.
In Aspen it is.
Relocate. It’s not hard; I’ve done it.
