Newsom Feeling the Squeeze After Data Shows California's Chickens Have Come Home to Roost

After California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom defended his leadership of the nation's most populous state to the hilt last week in a debate against Florida Republican GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, new data projects a massive budget shortfall.

In a report published Thursday, California's nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office said, "Largely as a result of a severe revenue decline in 2022‑23, the state faces a serious budget deficit. Specifically, under the state’s current law and policy, we estimate the Legislature will need to solve a budget problem of $68 billion in the upcoming budget process."

"...the Legislature will need to solve a budget problem of $68 billion in the upcoming budget process."

What might such a solution look like? It's a mystery.

$68 billion? No problem. They’ll find a new tax. How about a $500 tax per year for non-electric vehicles?

California has been using the pay later intent for years. I can remember when they sent vouchers to taxpayers for refunds back in the 80’s and 90’s some not paid for yet. They, also, have been using the liberal trick of borrowing from Peter to pay Paul putting both earmarked accounts in the red since the 60’s. This hides most deficits in the overall accounting and makes it look like they are doing their job in budgeting and repair. Gets votes.

If democrats though Newsom was 'the answer' if President Snigger steps down - they need to rewind the debate with DeSantis... Gavin's NOT 'the one'... and either is Michelle. But that's a different story.

“There is no squeeze.”

Worrying about kids’ toys not being “gender neutral” has a tendency to do that to the careers of politicians who are morons and can’t mind their own business. Gruesome Newsome IS NOT ST. NICK. TOYS AREN’T HIS FRIGGIN’ PROBLEM.

By contrast, the Texas Rainy Day fund is over $15 billion. My property taxes were cut from $6K to $4.5K.

California is always coming up with schemes to tax out-of-state residents who have ties to California. I expect them to try something new in that direction.

Here’s one such article about that.

A billion dollars every 5.3 days. Alfred E. Newsom was quoted as saying, “What? Me worry.”

This idiot came out the other day and claimed all the people in Florida are moving to Cauliphonya. I think the boy has his wires crossed.

No problemo. As soon as they figure in the Reparations, this little shortfall will disappear like a fart in a storm.

You mean the voters don’t see it coming last November a year ago? Come on. Clickbait. These MSM types need to manufacture their own news.

Newsome: Hey Joe ol’ buddy, I won’t run against you if you can find a measley 68 billion in the US Treasury to bail California out. You can do it pal.

Don’t worry, after Biden is re-installed in 2024, there will be a big federal bailout and “stimulus” for California and Illinois.

Can’t let these leftist political bastions collapse, can they?
