Biden to Congress: Help Ukraine Now or Send Americans to Fight Russia With NATO Later

President Joe Biden delivered his sternest warning yet to congressional Republicans balking at approving more aid to Ukraine: Pay up now or you'll pay more later, forced to send U.S. troops to fight Russian soldiers when an emboldened Russian President Vladimir Putin moves in on a NATO member country.

"Congress needs to pass supplemental funding for Ukraine before they break for the holiday. It's as simple as that," Biden said at the White House as the GOP-led House mulled Biden's request for $106 billion in emergency spending, including foreign aid.

"Frankly, I think It's stunning we have gotten to this point in the first place. Republicans in Congress are willing to give Putin the greatest gift he could hope for and abandon our global leadership," Biden said.

Noting that underdog Ukraine has managed to hang on for nearly two years after the Russian invasion of its western neighbor, Biden said, "We can't let Putin win." If the autocratic Russian leader succeeds in vanquishing Ukraine, he may well continue his aggression to include a NATO member country, triggering the security alliance rule that demands other NATO countries come to its defense.

“If Putin takes Ukraine, he won't stop there," Biden warned.

And then, "We'll have something that we don't seek and that we don't have today: American troops fighting Russian troops," Biden said evenly.

I believe the UniParty has already given up on Ukraine, and is using Ukraine funding as a poison pill to kill border security.

“ Send YOUR kid, Joe.”

That is just mean, as everybody knows that Bidung’s kid was personally strangled by Osama Bin Landen in Iraq

“Let NATO collapse and give Joe Stalin his fondest desire, i.e. that the Slavic Race control all of Europe.”

Europe has a larger population and GDP than North America.

If they aren’t willing to fight against Slavic control, why should we ?

Biden to Congress: Help Ukraine Now or Send Americans to Fight Russia With NATO Later

What, if anything, does the 'War Powers Act' provide to thwart Biden getting us into a war with Russia? The 'War Powers Act' is not very clear IMHO. Did Congress properly applied/used the act with our recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

IMHO - Congress uses its given power when they believe it's to their interest but they punt to the courts, President and/or agencies when they want to avoid responsibility or controversy.

Who's on first?

Thank you for referencing that article SeekAndFind.

"Biden to Congress [??? emphasis added]: Help Ukraine Now or Send Americans to Fight Russia With NATO Later"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

The drafters of the Constitution gave the power to declare war uniquely to Congress, not to POTUS. After all, it's uniquely Congress's (House) decision to finance a war.

Note that Justice Joseph Story had clarified that using peacetime taxpayer dollars for foreign aid and subsidies is unconstitutional.

If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).

So in addition to unconstitutional taxing and spending for foreign aid and subsidies, post 17th Amendment ratification career federal lawmakers are once again using Biden as a scapegoat for their unconstitutional policies, this time for their "war hawk" dirty work imo.

The remedy for corrupt state and federal governments is that all Trump-supporting patriots need to ASAP primary all state and federal incumbent lawmakers and executives in 2024, except for MTG, Gaetz & Company (and others?).

Trump supporters need to replace incumbents with patriots who will not only support Trump to finish draining the swamp, but will also support Trump to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes by repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A).

Consider the repealing of 16&17A as part of reparations for victim taxpayers of the unconstitutionally big federal government having to pay a lifetime of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers and a few other constitutionally enumerated expenses.

Finally, consider that corrupt political party and media fuss about "obsolete" electoral college is because the electoral college is the only thing stopping the corrupt political parties from establishing a permanent puppet presidency that will unquestioningly sign unconstitutional taxing and spending bills into law.

“Not with my money. Spend yours.”

You can always refuse to pay your taxes (which I do not recommend). That way, your money won’t be spent. Until you’re convicted, and you’re fined; in which case your money WILL be spent.

There are a lot of programs that the government spends our money on with which I disagree. That’s natural. But it’s also the cost of living in the US and the price of being a US citizen. If Congress stops funding Ukraine, I will accept that. That’s our system.

Yes, and you still fail to see that it was a fool's endeavor, and was known to be such before the first shot was ever fired.

All you managed to do was kill off an entire generation of Ukrainian males from which they may never be able to recover from their loss, dooming them to be extremely vulnerable going forward.

You learned nothing from the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal of the inept Biden leadership & entire administration, from top to bottom.

The sad part of this is that it could have all been prevented by working towards the cessation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine.

The Russia-Ukraine war is all about how far East NATO can expand, because without Ukraine in NATO no smart money will invest there, and Ukraine can’t join the EU. Putin is already on record offering to split Ukraine with Poland. This could have been negotiated. Instead we are holding to international law and funding Ukraine. If enough Ruskies die in Ukraine, it could cause another civil war in Russia. Maybe that’s what the international elites want, but that just makes China stronger. If Russia splinters, China could reclaim Siberia and all of its mineral wealth. While all of that is interesting, it is the U.S. taxpayer who is funding this war. Certain elites are making big money from the war while hundreds of thousands are dead in Russia and Ukraine.

Exactly!.....

And our press rarely reports the businss deals and partnerships the EU is making with China and indirectly helps Russia as well. The EU leadership sees China as their primary trade partner and building this daily.

There are many generations of dead soldiers strewn across Russia’s front porch. And many more until the return of Jesus. The rulers of men think this time it will be different.

Walter speaks more crap

The biggest threat Russia poses for us (aside from a nuclear conflict) is through arms exports to nations/militia’s hostile to us and that’s going to happen no matter what we do now thanks to our arming of Ukraine.

As the dust settles and things slow down and become predictable, as Russia kicks up their arms industry, expect a lot more lethal weapons to get into the hands of folks that want to hurt us: Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan...

Oh, for God’s sake. You are too emotional for your own good. You live in a Pollyanna world; I live in the real world. You are — for whichever side embraces you — a useful idiot.

In case you didn’t realize it, it was YOUR money, too, that was spent on Ukraine and Afghanistan and countless other endeavors; so, according to your logic YOU are funding and responsible for everything the government does, and YOU are at fault.

Grow up.

I don’t like a majority of what the government spends money on; I don’t like a majority of what government DOES. But I also think the country as a constitutional republic is still salvageable.

Are we in dire straits? Yes, we are. But I’m not about to give up on my country. I love her too much, warts and all.

And, you crack me up: You wax indignant about failing to cease hostilities in eastern Ukraine. But you fail to grasp what the people of Ukraine as a whole want! So far, they want to fight to save their country. You don’t like that; I get it. But, in the end, it is not your call.
