As part of his Bidenomics agenda to lower costs for American families, President Biden is announcing nearly 30 new actions to strengthen supply chains critical to America’s economic and national security. These actions will help Americans get the products they need when they need them, enable reliable deliveries for businesses, strengthen our agriculture and food systems, and support good-paying, union jobs here at home. President Biden will announce these actions alongside members of his Cabinet and other senior Administration officials at the inaugural meeting of the new White House Council on Supply Chain Resilience. The Council, which President Biden is establishing today, will support the enduring resilience of America’s critical supply chains.
Robust supply chains are fundamental to a strong economy. When supply chains smooth, prices fall for goods, food, and equipment, putting more money in the pockets of American families, workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs. That is why President Biden made supply chain resilience a priority from Day One of his Administration—including by signing an Executive Order on America’s Supply Chains and establishing a Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force that worked with states, Tribes, local governments, businesses, family farms, labor, and allies and partners to address the acute supply chain crises caused by the pandemic. Since then, the Administration has made historic investments to strengthen supply chains and prevent future disruptions by expanding production capacity in key sectors and building infrastructure through the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
These efforts helped unsnarl supply chains, re-normalize the flow of goods, and lower inflation. From October 2021 to October 2023, supply chain pressures as measured by the New York Fed declined from near-record highs to a record low, helping lower inflation, which has fallen by 65% from its peak.

Or
Maybe not?
Lots of 'climate impact' monitoring in this mess of an EO.
Triggering the Defense Production Act...again? Is that mysterious pneumonia in China ramping up concerns at the White House?
AI Hackathons?
Lastly, the amount of money being spent on these projects seems a pittance compared to what is being sent out of the Nation. Only 196 million to farmers? Food is critical supply no?
As part of the review, the Council will update criteria on industries, sectors, and products defined as critical to national and economic security. In addition, 12 months after the Council promulgates the criteria, and annually thereafter, the Council will apply the criteria to review and update the list of critical sectors, as appropriate.
Uh...shouldn't all of this have some sort of Congressional Oversight?
Was he wearing a small mustache, with his arm stretched out and yelling into the microphone when he said this?
Talkin out his old a##, just look at what Im doing for you in an election cycle
This will put government in control of supply. What could go wrong?
Maybe that is exactly what I am sensing? All the flowery language of how good this will be is obscuring the truth.
The other half of this though...is it feels like war is closer than we think. Of course Trump was trying to diversify supply chains as well, but it wasn’t under EO. It was through diplomacy agreements. Which of course would need Congressional approvals. Only exception was during Covid. Which laid bare our weaknesses, but the Biden Administration is only tackling this NOW?
I suspect he is incrementally giving government power over everything before the elections. A slow boil declaration of martial law through using EOs, Czars, and Agencies.
Just substitute Obama’s name for all announcements made by
Biden
“I’m from the government and I am here to help”....
Will the EO expire the first week of November 2024 ?
ok, in how many years time?
Only two things needed to prove anything Xiden does is an evil communist: 1) It strengthens the uniparty. 2) We taxpayers contine to fund the uniparty.
No more cow farts. You meat supply coulde be provided by the slum tenements they want to move all of us into.
National Defense Industrial Strategy (NDIS). The NDIS will guide engagement, policy development, and investment in the defense industrial base over the next three to five years. It will ensure a coordinated, whole-of-government approach to and focus on the multiple layers of suppliers and sub-suppliers that make up these critical supply chains.
So a problem caused by the most massive government bureaucracy ever created - the Covid enforcements conspiracy - will be fixec by another bureaucratic conspiracy.
We can't breath bro.
“The Council, which President Biden is establishing today”
When you have created a major problem, more government is always the solution.
These Marxists are consistent, I’ll give them that!
Get ready for things t get even worse....
A real life version (far worse) of 10-289 on the way?
The article is political bull shit.
No example of any of the measures was provided. The only result will be somehow providing some life to dying labor unions. Supply chains routed through union shops is what is being hyped
This is BS by the Marist Dems. Control the supply means they control the population, especially a disarmed population. This is what the muslims do to take over a third world country. Control supply of food and make them visit the mosque daily, convert or starve. This is Africa today north of the Equator and soon South of the Equator.
I'm sure this will be the case also.
