Superstar country music couple Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks performed an odd song to sing at former first lady Rosalynn Carter’s funeral on Tuesday with John Lennon’s anti-religious, left-wing themed song “Imagine,” even though Carter was a devout Southern Baptist Christian.
The singers, dressed all in black, performed an acoustic rendition of the vapid Lennon song which contains the lyrics “Imagine there’s no Heaven,” “No hell below us Above us, only sky,” and “Imagine… no religion, too.”
The pair delivered a nice recitation of the popular, left-wing dream tune, certainly. But to sing that there is no heaven and no religion at the funeral of a woman who has always been portrayed as a devout Christian is certainly a strange choice.

Like I said yesterday - barf brooks and his fat waive sang about no heaven at a funeral for a supposed Christian
And Barf Brooks and his fat wife refused to sing for anything republican related. They’re totally in for President Retard. What a surprise NOT
John Lennon and Yoko Ono wrote Imagine which says “Imagine No Possessions”. Well, Yoko never imagined no possessions - she fought Paul McCartney tooth and nail over the rights to and royalties from Beatles songs. Its like John Kerry or Gates telling us to stay home and not drive while they are boarding their private jets to campaign against carbon emissions.
i understand that recently George Strait said,
“Garth Brooks is not one of us. Hell, it’s worse than that. He’s one of them”.
Seems about right.
Southern Baptist???
Services were held in Methodist church.
They took the “o” out of “Country Music” ...
It was terrible to use that tune in the closing of the film, THE KILLING FIELDS, because it is what the Khymir Rouge believed in large part. Just imagine all those Cambodians without possessions, in the year Zero, learning that God is dead.
you gotta be kidding me...those two showed up and sang that tripe? I cannot really believe Rosalyn wanted that sung at her funeral. Maybe she did, but that would have betrayed much of her public and private life as far as we know.
Garth Brooks was on some football show over the holidays, singing “The River” with a girl football reporter. He has really gone downhill...or, perhaps, his “decent guy” persona was a facade.
I know he apparently cheated on his first wife and went off with Trisha Yearwood. I guess that happens when you’re inundated with overwhelming wealth and fame. And lots of people have marriages that fail, but this guy seems to take the cake.
Country music stars have enjoyed a lot of goodwill from their audience, and then they spit leftist crap into their faces. Not all of them, but enough of them to notice.
respect for George Strait.
“”””even though Carter was a devout Southern Baptist Christian””””
That isn’t correct, the Carters rejected and left the Southern Baptists, and she was also a church Deacon.
HOW DO WE KNOW THAT ROSALYNN didn’t pick that song?
Many famous people plan their own funerals down to the last detail.
Queen Elizabeth II certainly did.
Not unusual for well known people to have everything planned out tightly.
ALSO-—EVERY report I have read says that Garth & Trisha were good friends with the Carters.
I found that source...it is a satire site.

While most popular music is secular – in that its about the things of this world, making no mention of the divine or spiritual – “Imagine” by John Lennon is explicitly secularist.
In Lennon’s telling, religion is an impediment to human flourishing – something to be overcome, transcended.
Surely the family chose the song... no?
LOL!!!
A lot of Christians are naive when it comes to that song.
The Carter’s were disgusting globalists who had their sights set on destroying the Christian church from within. Brooks and Yearwood are sickening leftists who tries to destroy country music from within
“Supposed Christian” is right. She was more comfortable around the Bella Abzug types than with the Nellie Gray Christians.
