There will be no Christmas lights in Bethlehem this year.
In solidarity with the suffering in Gaza due to the Israel-Hamas war, last week Christian leaders and municipal authorities in the West Bank city decided to cancel all public festivities. For the first time since modern celebrations began, the birthplace of Jesus will not decorate the Manger Square tree.

Them canceling Christmad celebration is an Abomination.
So no celebrations until there are no “wars or rumors of war”?
Can’t remember the exact number but some scholar researched history and found that there was no active war going on in the world and it was something like 20 years out of 8,000 years.
It was never just about Jews or Israel. All infidels are the target, and there are lots of Arab Christians there.
Given how tourism has dropped off 90%, due to fear of the war expanding, I sumbit that the ‘celebrations’ are cancelled because it would COST them money to put it on, with so few tourists. The war just gives them an excuse to ‘show solidarity’ with Gaza.
Don’t buy the Bravo Sierra! It is all about the ‘Benjamins’! (Thai is FRANKLIN, not Netanyahu!)

Christians side with genocidal terrorists?
just about the only places in the middle east where Christians are free and have legal rights and police protection are in Israel and (to a degree) the south (especially) of Egypt for the Coptic church community centered thereabouts. Nothing perfect in the middle east, of course, but the governments there do try to protect Christians. Christians have not fared well generally under Muslim rule. The Muslims have pretty much killed, driven out, or seriously subjugated most of the Christians from Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, and any area where PLO or Hamas or Hezballah or other Arab terrorist gangs hold sway. Some of those Christian communities were almost 2000 years old, predating the invasion of Islam. Each situation is different but I’d sure not want to live as a Christian in any of the Muslim - dominated areas!
Islam has been an enemy of Christians since the beginning. In celebration of Mozlems getting a proper send off to Hell they should double the celebrations!
What needs to happen to these arabs….is a complete Christian tourism boycott.
Islam looks to be winning.
Nazareth is an Arab town.
Christians comprise approximately 18% of Bethlehem’s population. In 1950, Bethlehem and the surrounding villages were 86% Christian, but by 2016, it dipped to just 12 percent, according to Bethlehem mayor Vera Baboun. Christians have gone from around 80% of the population just after the establishment of the state of Israel in 1950, to around 12% today.
I’ve never understood why God blessed Ishmael since he knew that someday, Islam would be such a evil religion and a harrasser, killer of his people in the future.
It's the world gone mad.
This Baboun gal is a vicious Jew hater herself.
Yes, mostly Arab Christians.
Been there.
Bethlehem and east Jerusalem have arab muslim majority.
When visiting we did not go to Bethlehem because of the intifada
God does things in God’s time.
We have to deal with it
“Them canceling Christmas celebration is an Abomination.”
Keep in mind this - Jesus was a Jew
