United States bases and troops in Iraq and Syria were attacked with mortars and armed drones on Thanksgiving Day, according to several reports.
According to Sky News Arabia, U.S. and international forces were attacked four times in Iraq and Syria, but there were no casualties or damage to infrastructure.
In Iraq, several suicide drones were launched at the Ain al-Asad air base west of Baghdad, as well as one at the Harir base near Erbil Airport in northern Iraq where U.S. troops are stationed, according to the report.
A group calling itself the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for the attacks in Iraq, according to Sky Arabia News. There was also a claim that militia forces stormed the base using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms.

What?? we have troops in Syria now?
Have for some time, ain’t it a kick
GTF out of all unfriendly countries.
Why we borrowing more money to keep military there?
Iraq is never going to be a democracy.
Trump ordered removal of US troops from Syria. The Defense Department mutinied without consequence.
Why are there US bases in Iraq and Syria?
Move those troops to the Rio Grande!
So, what the heck is a 'suicide drone'? A 'drone' is a mechanical flying machine, remotely flown, is it not? 'Suicide' is the act of killing oneself intentionally. A 'drone' is not conscious, nor self-aware. It, therefore, cannot intentionally kill itself. Would the drone not have been suicidal if it had received counseling? Poor, misguided drone! </sarc>
I do wish that 'journolists' would learn English! Is that too much to ask?
Seriously, I am glad there were no injuries. Perhaps the US needs to 'take the fight' to these terrorists, like Israel is doing with Hamass.

Good question.
Perhaps the US needs to station its army along the Rio Grande and in the Sonoran Desert, with a few regiments at Rouses Point and I-87, and tell the Iraqis and Syrians to run their own countries.
Congress has never authorized Syria. It’s blatantly illegal
What?!? And actually defend our borders, instead of meddling in countries on the other side of the world, where we’re not wanted? That’s crazy talk! /s
And they are still alive to eat their falafels
> What?? we have troops in Syria now? <
It’s no big deal. We are just emulating the Roman Empire. They liked to have troops everywhere, too.
Of course that policy helped cause the Roman Empire’s collapse. But it will be different with us.
I guess.
A “live DJ” is the suicide drone’s brother.
“What?? we have troops in Syria now?”
That’s what Neocons do. In this case it looks like the Neocons will soon be spanked and the occupying troops will be evicted.
Thanks.
One line: Loitering munitions fit in the niche between cruise missiles and unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs or combat drones), sharing characteristics with both.
Sounds sort of explosively erotic as weapons of destruction go. I used to be a big Tom Clancy fan when he really was alive to write the books.
