For the first time since record keeping began, Earth has surpassed a critical temperature threshold that scientists have long warned could unleash the worst effects of climate change.
On Friday the planet soared 2.07 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, or the 1850 to 1900 average, according to Europe’s Copernicus Climate Change Service.
Not all hope is lost, however. The Fifth National Climate Change Assessment, released last week by the White House, underscored that every fraction of a degree of warming added or averted will make a difference.

“ The Earth’s atmosphere contains 0.04% carbon dioxide.
Man is responsible for 3.4% of that 0.04%
The total amount of anthropogenic carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is therefore 0.0014%.
Completely eliminate man’s contribution and the Earth’s atmosphere still contains 0.04% CO2.”
Great stats. I’m stealing it. Can you cite a source? When I use it, E. Pluribus Unum said so won’t carry much weight , no matter how much I believe you.
Ha! Says you. Biden promised that Congress was going to overturn The Laws of Thermodynamics. He’ll make a Presidential decree and doesn’t give a rip about what the Supreme Court rules. There goes your Law of Thermodynamics argument.
If E. Pluribus Unum said it, you should believe it. If he said a banty rooster could pull a freight train, you should go about looking for a harness.
With tears streaming down my face, I read this...
Where are the Oh Noez guys when you need them?
This has to stop.
IIRC, about 1850 was about the time we were coming out of the Little Ice Age. Wouldn’t it make sense that it would be warming?
Their wrongness is at least three layers deep:
1) Their claims about the temperature data are BS in the first place
2) Even if the warming is real, human activity isn’t the best explanation
3) Even if the warming is real and human activity is the cause, the net effect is actually beneficial. Life on Earth including human life thrives with warmer temps.
Our planet’s big problem isn’t too much CO2 in the atmosphere. It’s too many leftist control freaks in positions of power.
Well played sir!
Is there anything living on this planet that cannot withstand a 2 degree rise in temp? Then how do they handle the change in seasons?
I didn’t say I didn’t believe it, but I do know it’s unlikely the Big E is sampling atmospheric carbon dioxide, so as an educated person, The E learned it somewhere. Just curious where.
They move the thermometer closer to the stove, then tell us it’s getting warmer. Libtards believe them.
Thank you Bob forecourt thoughtful reply.
I am so grateful for this forum and the wonderful knowledge and ideas exchanged here. God bless!
We stopped the COMING ICE AGE with CO2!

“Do you suppose we can learn enough, soon enough, to pull off a balancing act with the CO2 blanket saving us from another ice age?”

AND WE DID IT! Now we need a nuclear war with it’s nuclear winter to cool things off again.
Meanwhile I don’t see politicians living next to the oceans selling out and moving to higher ground.
There must be bodies everywhere.
I would like to see the math for this one day. 5 quadrillion metric tons of atmosphere of which 0.04% is CO2 and then add what amount cars, factories ect. add to that then subtract the amount plants absorb and what amount escapes into space. I get the feeling if that math could be done what we contribute as compared to volcanoes, wildfires would be like peeing in the ocean and claiming it will turn the oceans yellow.
Ah, I see. Do you know how the television signal works? I mean you see the images on your tv but do you know HOW it got there? It's the same principle. E snatched it out of the air and physically grabbed it and retained it. That's how he rolls. We're lucky to have him as a resource.
Run in circles! Scream and shout!
