True, one look at the wonder weapon welfare Leopards, both versions have just about been wiped out, along with US Strykers, Bradley’s, etc….the same fate awaits our M1 tanks……and F16’s…..as for the glorious Ukie offensive of June 4th, a bloodbath for the Ukies….conservative estimates are 60,000 plus KIA…..
That said, Marioupol, Artymovsk ( Bakmut) and now Aviidivka all clobbered by Vlad…..pulling up the Ukie track record shows where they are going.
Vlad needs to go for Unconditional Surrender, the only way Peace can be insured…..as the failed Minsk accords showed, any agreements with the West can not be trusted. The Minsk’s accords were signed in 2014 only to buy time for NATO to arm the Ukies- as admitted by EU leaders ( liars).
Thank goodness no Ukrainian tank has ever bit the dust.
As a weapon of war, tanks are obsolete and nearly useless.
They can be destroyed at will by either side.
Putting men in tanks is a suicide mission.
Only remote controlled tanks should be on the battlefield, if at all.........................

With drones AI and directed energy weapons there really is a terminator future.
As with the vloggers -- so many uploading daily Ukraine videos from these United States, as well as such "frontline" nations as Switzerland and Azerbaijan -- Forbes' article is by a a journalist, author and filmmaker based in Columbia, South Carolina. One notes that he cites a Ukrainian media source in some articles: censor.net. So, second-hand retelling is the name of the game.

Reading between the lines, Russia has been so unconcerned about this “bridgehead” that it took them several weeks to contest it with a “counterattack.” Counterattack with one tank? I don’t think this is a tipping point in the war, much as Forbes would like it to be.

Forbes writer: The best I can do is “an old Russian tank was damaged… maybe”.
I am not sure what new piece of information this article brings. Virtually every Russian tank destroyed in The Ukraine has been by a drone. The age of the tank has no relevance to this.
My only question, is why has neither side not used drones to attack the other sides drones. Fly a small drone up above the larger surveillance drone and drop a grenade on it.
Mike and Geoff Howe of Howe & Howe, Waterboro, Maine have been building unmanned tank prototypes for military and non military use since 2001. They were bought by Textron Systems in 2018.
Of course the US Military is way behind in their thinking. I suspect the Russian/Ukraine has changed thinking.

First hand information is tough in this war. As I recall, it is a very dangerous war for reporters.
Care to document where this reporter is, "working with third hand information?"
By way of comparison, ISW reports from Washington DC, while YouTube reports with third hand information post daily from the US, Switzerland, Azerbaijan and far from Ukraine. The RAND posts third had information from Santa Monica.
Both Russia and Ukraine had made firsthand reporting from anywhere near the front line almost impossible. Meanwhile, one watches daily first hand reporting from Gaza. So very different.

Quite unlike the above, one reads Gaza is far more dangerous for journalists:

17 in nine years for the Ukraine-Russia war, and "over 50" in the last few weeks from Gaza.
Very few people on free republic support the US being involved in the war. I asked this question many months ago on here. It was at least nine to one against the war.
