DeSantis: Trump Is Too Old for Presidency
Breitbart ^ | November 19, 2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 11/19/2023 3:13:45 PM PST by Macho MAGA Man

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump was too old to be president of the United States.

Anchor Jake Tapper said, “Your campaign keeps a running list and keeps tweeting a running list of Donald Trump’s fumbles and accidents and confused moments, that’s what they call them, saying this is why his handlers won’t let him debate, noting times that trump has forgot what state he is in, times he has confused Biden and Obama, confused Kristi Noem and on and on. What do you think about Donald Trump’s mental fitness? Do you think he’s too old to be president?”

DeSantis said, “I have said publicly the president is not a job for an 80-year-old. Donald Trump will be order on July 2025 than Biden was in January 2021. But this is not the same guy as the Trump in 2015 and ’16. That guy would show up on the debate stage, he would barnstorm. Yes, he was off-color, he was edgy, but it was all part of an idea that he was really going to shake things up. Now he’s wedded to the teleprompter, he’s not willing to debate, and he’s running on many of the same things he promised to do in 2016 and didn’t deliver.”

“DeSantis just keeps diggin’ that hole . . .”

And it seems every time he opens his mouth that hole makes him shorter.

In the land of upside-down rainbows and polka-dotted sunsets, lived a talking pineapple named Gerald. Gerald had a peculiar hobby of juggling marshmallows while reciting Shakespearean sonnets to his pet rock, Sir Quigglesworth. One day, Sir Quigglesworth grew tired of the sonnets and decided to embark on a quest to find the mystical library of dancing cheese.

To reach this cheesy haven, Sir Quigglesworth rode a unicycle made of bubblegum through a forest of floating spaghetti trees. Along the way, he encountered a group of singing penguins who insisted on communicating solely in interpretive dance. The penguins taught Sir Quigglesworth the sacred art of underwater basket weaving and gifted him a snorkel made of rainbow-colored licorice.

As Sir Quigglesworth continued his journey, he stumbled upon a field of levitating jellybeans that whispered words of existential wisdom. Confused but intrigued, Sir Quigglesworth engaged in a philosophical debate with the jellybeans about the meaning of life, the universe, and the proper way to eat a taco while riding a unicycle underwater.

Meanwhile, Gerald, the talking pineapple, discovered a portal to a dimension where gravity worked in reverse. In this topsy-turvy world, pineapples wore monocles and engaged in intellectual debates about the nutritional value of moonbeams. Gerald, being the adventurous pineapple that he was, joined a flying teapot race to determine the fastest method of interdimensional travel.

Back in the field of levitating jellybeans, Sir Quigglesworth and his new jellybean philosopher friends stumbled upon a hidden disco party hosted by a group of intergalactic walruses. The walruses, sporting glittery space suits, taught Sir Quigglesworth the latest dance moves from the Andromeda Galaxy and challenged him to a moonwalking competition.

As the disco party reached its climax, Gerald’s flying teapot burst through the fabric of reality, causing a cosmic ripple that turned the floating spaghetti trees into spaghetti-flavored confetti. The penguins, now wearing tutus made of marshmallows, joined forces with the intergalactic walruses to organize the first-ever Intergalactic Jellybean Disco Carnival.

And so, in a dimension where logic took a vacation and absurdity reigned supreme, Sir Quigglesworth, the talking pineapple Gerald, and a cast of eccentric characters danced, jived, and floated through the nonsensical wonders of their surreal universe, leaving behind a trail of giggles, confetti, and the sweet scent of interdimensional cheesiness.

In one sense it’s ideal that he has exposed his severe lack of judgment and discretion at this time before we voted for him and then wish we hadn’t done so... thanks Ron for the head’s up..

He in a hell of a lot better shape than the current Usurper in office, illegally.

That's a pretty low bar to clear. Trump ain't the same man he was in 2016, that's for certain.

Once upon a time people campaigned on the issues and their ideas or plans or success. Now most campaign on hit pieces and negatives. If DeSantis has nothing better to campaign on than Trump’s age maybe he had better just quit.

Sorry. RDS is right, and to some extent the confusion issue will be blunted. I don’t like saying this, b/c we must win.

I am surprised that DeSantis would say something like that, after we all have been repeatedly assured by DeSantis-bots that DeSantis is too high-minded, too noble-minded, as befits a special 8th day creation, to engage in smears such as that.

Biden Keeps Talking About the Old Days. Young Voters Don’t Like It.
Biden turns 81 on Monday, and is losing support from millennials and Gen Z
By Catherine Lucey, WSJ, Nov. 19, 2023

As Biden marks his 81st birthday Monday and seeks re-election, his incessant stories about people who have died and faded from public view appear out of date to younger audiences. There are more than 60 years separating Biden from voters who will cast their first ballots in 2024, an acute age gap that presents a challenge for the oldest president in U.S. history.

The fact that he continues to reference politicians that Gen Z may not relate to definitely puts him out of touch. Youth voting increased significantly in 2020. Among voters ages 18 to 29, Biden beat former President Donald Trump by 24 percentage points.

Biden’s team counters that the president’s “old-time references” are part of a “folksy style” that is an authentic asset, and they say newer generations connect to his wisdom and experience.

Biden, who would be 86 years old at the end of a second term should he win, has long employed a “greatest-hits” stories, including admonitions from his late parents and grandparents. The nostalgic tales can feel like an unnerving turn through 5th grade dog-eared history books.

Biden also talks of his dealings with long gone segregationist senators like Strom Thurmond of South Carolina and James Eastland of Mississippi.

Biden says when his first wife and daughter were killed in an automobile crash in 1972, shortly after his first Senate victory, he was supported by a group of older, and now deceased, senators such as then-Majority Leader Mike Mansfield of Montana, Thomas Eagleton of Missouri and Fritz Hollings of South Carolina.

Republicans have consistently sought to portray Biden as old and out of touch. Trump has mocked Biden’s age and abilities while the Republican National Committee, in an account on X, formerly known as Twitter, recently declared Biden was “not playing with a full deck.”

Other times, Biden signals older cultural touchpoints. During the same Vietnam news conference in September, he referred to a John Wayne Western film as a way of refuting skeptics of climate change.

Of all the stupid things Biden has done, invoking wartime powers to force Americans to use inefficient electric heat pumps instead of gas furnaces, is nutsy, unless the Biden goal is to “cull the herd” or kill off Americans during winter months:
<><> Biden invoking wartime powers for things unrelated to national defense is reckless and capricious.
<><>electric heat pumps in the colder areas of the country is unworkable.

Biden using “special wartime powers” shows you where this refugee from the Cold War is coming from.
<><>To over-the-hill Biden, a 50 year product of legislating a wartime govt, wars are essential,
<><> wars are a Rooseveltian way to boost his presidency
<><> wars are the MO to continue the flow of tax dollars to the Biden Crime Family.

Biden’s funding nine manufacturing projects with $169 million he snagged from last year’s climate bill, is being claimed under the “emergency authority of the 40’s era Cold War Defense Production Act (DPA).

Today a report said Gov.Abbott endorsed Trump. What if DeSantis had done that at the very start? We would have applauded his acumen and looked forward to has having a role in the Trump administration someday.

Now? Fuhhhggggeddabout it.

Trying to cut Trump down to make himself look not so small.

So if Trump loses, DeSantis thinks he will gain at his expense and come up smirking on top. At the expense of the Republic.

Go sit down and shut up.

It’s a valid criticism that Trump supporters would apply to any candidate not named Trump, but logical consistency is out the window when you’ve fallen in love with a politician.
