It seems to me that the “banned book” gambit comes in two phases:
1) The Left are usually the ones who want to ban books. The Bible. Huck Finn (the n-word). All kinds of “hateful and bigoted” works of literature. The Left wants that stuff out of the schools.
2) The Left then denounces the hateful and bigoted Rightwing Christian Extremists who — gasp! — have actually banned books and who would even go so far as to burn them like the Nazis!!!!!
