November 16

Tell of God’s Goodness

Bible in a Year:

Let me tell you what he has done for me.

Psalm 66:16

Testimony time was the segment in our church service when people shared how God had been at work in their lives. Auntie—or Sister Langford as she was known by others in our church family—was known for packing lots of praise into her testimonies. On the occasions when she shared her personal conversion story, one could expect her to take up a good bit of the service. Her heart gushed with praise to God who’d graciously changed her life!

Similarly, the testimony of the writer of Psalm 66 is packed with praise as he testifies about what God had done for His people. “Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!” (v. 5). His deeds included miraculous rescue (v. 6), preservation (v. 9), and testing and discipline that resulted in His people being brought to a better place (vv. 10–12). While there are God-experiences that we have in common with other believers in Jesus, there are also things unique to our individual journeys. Have there been times in your life when God has particularly made Himself known to you? Those are worth sharing with others who need to hear how He’s worked in your life. “Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me” (v. 16). .

Reflect & Pray

How can you more readily share your experiences of God’s goodness with others? How have you been inspired to trust Him more when you’ve heard others share His awesome deeds?

Heavenly Father, I rejoice in the varied expressions of Your kindness to me. Help me not to keep these things to myself.

Good evening, radu....hope your day has gone well.

My morning was really busy, but settled down in the afternoon. And we had temps above freezing, an hour or so of high winds, and now it is snowing again.

Howdy, Kathy.

I reckon the day’s gone well enough. Nothing special about it. Just another day. LOL
Cloudy and cool but nary a drop of rain. Drat.

Glad your day wasn’t hectic the whole time. I hope this means a little breathing room this evening.

I noticed it was mighty breezy earlier up there today. A Dreamlifter landed and as it came in, it was rockin’. Made my stomach lurch to watch. LOL

I saw snow falling earlier but it wasn’t heavy this time. That’s good since so many are still trying to clean up the two feet already on the ground.

Good evening, Janey...((HUGS))...glad your wind and rain have departed. Lucky folks....enjoy your flight.

We are having a day or so of above freezing temps...drip, drip, drip, and then headed to single digits for the weekend. Now we will have to contend with ice.

Howdy, luvie.

Did the clouds stick a round or did they move out as the day wore on?

Hey there, radu!

The sun did come out early this afternoon, but it was still fairly cool so it still felt good. The kitties enjoyed being dry, however. LOL!

Bummer you didn’t get any rain in those clouds. I feel your pain so much!

You’d mentioned they predicted 70s for today and that’s perfect. Not hot, and the kitties were probably ecstatic to have a little sunshine warmth and no rain.

There were a few light showers scattered around the state today but none around here. They still say we’ll have a little Friday but the good stuff will be well north of us. Monday’s when we have the best shot at decent rain, IF the forecast doesn’t change.
The new drought monitor map isn’t going to be pretty when it comes out tomorrow. Heck, it’s already ugly.

It sure is ugly. And there is Florida getting more rain than they can deal with. They should share! There is a storm brewing in the Caribbean but I doubt if it’s going in the right direction to give you some relief. It’s been a really weird weather year.

The kitties did seem less stressed. But I am. I still haven’t heard from our kitty-sitter and we want to leave on Monday! Some people are just unreliable!
