MSN ^ | 11/12/2023 | Steve Adcock

The “Golden State,” has long been a symbol of opportunity, innovation, and natural beauty. With its stunning landscapes, booming tech industry, and cultural diversity, it’s no wonder that millions of people have called it home for decades.

However, California is experiencing what I like to call the “California Exodus.”

Where are these Californians flocking to? This article will explore some states that have become popular destinations for those leaving the Golden State.

Ah - the good old days when people migrated to get jobs instead of free stuff ...

Get real. I left CA to AZ about 4 years ago and it’s like heaven everyday compared to S.CA.

I’d have to live to 175 years old for my corner of AZ to become anything like what I left behind in S.CA.

And by the way, there are lots from CA here and more coming all the time, but most are like us, very patriotic folk who like us, could not longer take the CA nightmare.

I could have taken a job in Charlestown, MA

Boston/Charlestown is undoubtedly Democrat. However, they are slightly more rational regarding crime than here in Austin. Also, the property taxes are less in Boston than in Austin.

Lots moving to AZ. Price of real estate has gone nuts. Roads crowded too.

It was 1985 when I was offered the job in Charlestown, MA.
It was still the place where the white criminals of Boston lived. It was the home of bank and armored car robbers. Just like in the movie “The Town”.

Whitey Bulger was still a citizen of Summerville back then. Him and his Winter Hill buddies controlled Southie.

A buddy of mine took the job instead. He lived in an apartment in Malden, MA.

Now, Charlestown is full of yuppies. Just like Southie.

Thank you for the insight. I’m considering moving from Austin to the North End or Charleston.

Far too many moving to Idaho. Fortunately, most seem attracted to the west side (Boise/Eagle/Star/Nampa/Meridian) rather than southeast. It still comes with political consequences.

My daughter sold her beautiful home in North Idaho to people from Seattle.. Made a huge profit on it. And then the idiots proceeded to build two more houses on that land. The neighbors are furious, but apparently the city council was bribed enough to allow it.

The new people are most assuredly Democraps.

Yes they have. It used to be the nuts were contained in Boulder. Now, practically the whole metropolitan east slope is infested with diseased liberal thought patterns.

I moved to Utah from Cal in 1982. I have never voted for a Democrat since 1972. We’ve gotten way too many locusts in SLC. But they mostly seem locally raised.

And around the UofU we have lots of pride and BLM flags. I like it when the enemy identifies itself.

It is because the ideas are correct. It is just the people in CA implementing it wrong. Same with communism just listen to them explain it.

The North End of Boston is by far the safest neighborhood in Boston. That is because it is still controlled by the Italian Mafia. So you are always safe walking around any time day or night. It is by far the safest place for a single woman to live in the city. They protect their neighborhood.

A young guy I work worth bought a condo in Charlestown about a year or so ago. He likes living there. He is in his late 20s. The only issue is that it borders Chelsea & Everett across the Mystic River.

The Seaport district is where all the newest high rise condo buildings are located. I think it is very expensive. This was a major urban renewal project after the Big Dig was finished making the area easy access to the financial district.

I have always liked the Back Bay section of Boston. The only issues can be that there are a lot of college students living there. So you might be living next door, above or below five BU/BC/Northeastern students all sharing an apartment.

Beacon Hill is very expensive. Maybe you could live next door to John Kerry.

The western suburbs are all very nice. Especially Brookline, Newton, Wellesley, Arlington, Lexington, Concord, Waltham & Weston. Pretty much anywhere along Route 2 into the Nashoba Valley are nice places to live except Fitchburg.

To the north along the Atlantic the nicest suburbs are Beverly, Marblehead, and Manchester by the Sea. Farther north Rockport, Essex, Ipswich Rowley, Topsfield and Newburyport are all beautiful towns to live in.

GA is now #1 world-wide in film production. Started with the movie “Deliverance”. Then GA began offer incentives to film here and the inevitable happened. I think the Atlanta Airport is among the busiest in the world. Think twice before building a huge airport. “If you build it, they will come.” (Field of Dreams)

Thank you. I really appreciate your response. I've been attempting to gain some insight from reddit regarding the neighborhoods in Boston and the surrounding towns. Unfortunately, reddit is populated by the woke.

Thanks again.

https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ ... a useful site with school info, which indicates a lot about the quality of a community imo. We homeschooled but most don’t/won’t.
