Why is the West moving to replace Zelensky?
Asia Times ^

Posted on 11/10/2023 8:23:50 PM PST by FarCenter

There is a growing consensus that the West (meaning the United States with the help of the UK) wants to replace Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

My friend and colleague Larry Johnson thinks the CIA and MI6 in the UK are already setting the stage. Either Zelensky will be forced to call a Presidential election, scheduled for next March, and then be replaced, or, if he resists, he will be replaced anyway in a Maidan-style upheaval.

The US has pushed changes in Ukraine’s leadership before, and the current State Department undersecretary, Victoria Nuland, was behind the earlier operation. A 2014 phone call between Nuland and the then-US ambassador to Kiev, Geoffrey Pyatt, was intercepted and the content of the call was leaked to the press.

The call is interesting because Nuland and Pyatt were selecting an “acceptable” presidential candidate for Ukraine, and they enlisted then-Vice President Joe Biden to help. Note that along with Biden, Jake Sullivan, then and now Biden’s national security advisor, was also enlisted in selecting Ukraine’s next President.

(Republicans in Congress for several years have been investigating Biden’s son Hunter’s activities in Ukraine. They have alleged – so far without finding proof – that Biden himself intervened to protect his son’s business ties there and ties of his own.)

Transcript of intercepted call

Pyatt: I think we’re in play. The Klitschko [Vitaly Klitschko, one of three main opposition leaders] piece is obviously the complicated electron here. Especially the announcement of him as deputy prime minister and you’ve seen some of my notes on the troubles in the marriage right now so we’re trying to get a read really fast on where he is on this stuff. But I think your argument to him, which you’ll need to make, I think that’s the next phone call you want to set up, is exactly the one you made to Yats [Arseniy Yatseniuk, another opposition leader]. And I’m glad you sort of put him on the spot on where he fits in this scenario. And I’m very glad that he said what he said in response.

Nuland: Good. I don’t think Klitsch should go into the government. I don’t think it’s necessary, I don’t think it’s a good idea.

Transcript continues at the link in its entirety.

Larry... isn’t he the idiot who right before the 9/11 attacks claimed the threat of foreign terrorism was overblown?

Hangs around with the antisemitic Ray McGovern/VIPS crowd that gets published in Russia Today ?

The Asia Times eh? The owner of the Asia Times is Sondhi Limthongku, a Thai billionaire who is strongly pro-Beijing and anti-American, a convicted fraudster and noted conspiracy theorist.

"(Republicans in Congress for several years have been investigating Biden’s son Hunter’s activities in Ukraine. They have alleged – so far without finding proof – that Biden himself intervened to protect his son’s business ties there and ties of his own.) "

Welp, I have the link to Biden bragging about extorting the Ukrainians to fire the prosecutor investigating Hunter's illicit dealings in the Ukraine.

Joe Biden Admits Quid Pro Quo with Ukraine (video 1 min 16 seconds)

Here's a graphic diagram of the crime network  in the Ukraine:

I Also documented over an hour  of the Ukrainian prosecuters presenting some of the evidence they had on the Bidens and other US officials.

The investigator, Andree Derkach introduced the video, stating it covers corruption (Joe Biden, US State Department, Mnuchin etc.) including, but not limited to, the following points:

1. Ukrainian money that has disappeared to the Biden family.

2. Audio recordings (phone calls) between the 5th Prime Minister Poroshenko and Joe Biden.

3. Corruption related to the procurement of oil and gas that has resulted in a 30% higher utility tariff bills for all Ukrainians.

4. Embezzlement of 100s of thousands of dollars by the U.S. State Dept.

PART I

ransomnote: I want to point out in the Part I transcript, the November 16, 2016 phone call between Biden and Poroshenko, Biden says he's meeting with the Vice President (Pence) because he's the only one with foreign policy experience. I wonder what Biden and Pence talked about? And why didn't Pence ever mention his own or Biden's calls with Poroshenko when the Dems were trying to impeach President Trump for an on-the-record phone call with the Deep State installed Ukrainian head of state, Zelensky? Why didn't Pence say Trump's call was not unusual, and that he and Biden were on the phone with Poroshenko and didn't provide any sort of transcript, but that all was well?

Replacing Diem worked wonders for us in Vietnam, didn't it? So why not try it in Ukraine? What could go wrong?

Zelensky has been very willing to send every man and boy into the meat grinder. Entire generations of Ukrainian men have been decimated. Now that a loss has become inevitable, the US and other NATO countries have grown tired of the economic impact and loss of prestige that is accompanying defeat after an unprecedented effort.

In contrast the Russian economy is expected to be growing this year and next despite the drain this effort has had on their economy. They not only have taken and are holding onto 20% of Ukraine, the “sanctions” have just caused them to find new markets for their exports. They have now displaced Saudi Arabia as China’s primary source of oil, and also now provide India with 40% of their oil. Those represent huge increases in supply to the world’s two most populous countries.

This all represents an embarrassing defeat for the West and someone needs to take the blame. Obviously, this will be Zelensky. Because elections have been suspended this will most likely be in the form of a military coup. Will he be allowed to escape to a foreign country with access to funds that he and his subordinates have salted away? That is the real question.

The CIA will do what it wants to do, and it doesn't matter what they do, because as usual, no matter what they do, they will f*ck it up.

Maybe the Russian economy is more self-sufficient. But they suffered at least 100,000 KIA. They can’t really afford to lose that kind of manpower. This isn’t the Soviet Union or the Russian Empire. In 20 years from now, Russia will run out of cannon fodder to maintain its empire.

I expect him to seek asylum...maybe in Turkey? I do not believe he gives a damn about Ukraine or its people.

So will the USA stage coup No. 2?

It is interesting that you would mention manpower. The Ukrainians are rapidly running out of men to send to the meat grinder... The Russians have several times as many men along with foreign mercenaries that they are paying for with the money they are getting from their exports. The average age of a Ukrainian soldier is now 43 despite their nasty habit of kidnapping underage boys on their way to and from school.

In a long war of attrition and as long as the Russian people are willing to support the war effort, then yes, Russia will win.

But it will be a pyrrhic victory. Russia will lose its empire in a generation or two unless they are able to fix their demographics.
