Democrats across Congress are calling on President Biden to allow Palestinians entry into the U.S. on humanitarian grounds as war drags on in Gaza.
Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin, D-Ill., together with Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., and Pramila Jayapal, D-Was., led a letter of 103 colleagues to the president asking him to grant the Palestinian territories Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and/or authorize Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Palestinians already living in the U.S.
The TPS program allows those from war-torn or crisis-wracked countries to legally live and work in the U.S., but does not give them permanent residency.
It allows nationals from those countries who are in the U.S. and 18-month reprieve and can be renewed indefinitely.
DED prevents unlawful immigrants from such countries from being deported for a designated time period.
Countries that currently have TPS include: Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, Burma, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Venezuela, Nepal, Nicaragua, Kuwait, Cameroon and Sudan.
'In light of ongoing armed conflict, Palestinians already in the United States should not be forced to return to the Palestinian territories, consistent with President Biden’s stated commitment to protecting Palestinian civilians,' the lawmakers wrote.
Some 7,200 Palestinians were here on temporary visas in 2022, according to State Department statistics.
'While the number of non-immigrant visas issued cannot provide an exact approximation of the number of Palestinians that would be eligible for TPS or DED, it makes clear that the number of beneficiaries would be small, while the benefit could be lifesaving,' the letter read.

To his slight credit, my congressman, the otherwise execrable Ted Lieu, did not sign the letter.
California’s appointed senator Laphonza Butler did sign it. Alex Padilla did not.

We got a bunch of Syrians in Jacksonville, FL. I see them all the time now at Walmart and what not. This will happen x 10 whatever we got of the Syrians.
If anybody thinks that voting will get us out of this mess, they are sorely mistaken.
As if anymore proof is needed...many politicians have been compromised. I believe that photos exist of Demoncrats and RINOs with underage girls AND boys. The RINOs are told that they can voice opposition to the Demoncrats in Congress or in front of the news cameras...BUT when a Demoncrat-sponsored vote comes down, they WILL vote with the Demoncrats or else the MSM will show the photos on national TV. This is why you’ll see RINOs vote to bring them into this country...in addition to the invasion at our southern border.
