The initiative follows the death of Sagi Golan, a member of the LGBTQ+ community and an officer who was killed while defending Kibbutz Be'eri from Hamas.
His partner struggled at first to receive formal recognition as a spouse, but the Israeli Defense Ministry said it would already interpret the existing law as including same-sex partners. The couple intended to get married on October 20.
"The Ministry of Defense interprets in practice the Law on the Families of Soldiers Who Died in the Campaign as such that it applies to same-sex couples as well, while examining each case on its own merits," Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on October 23.

That’s what used to happen in a typical month when there was no war declared.
And the clock is running out on the grudging support they get from Western countries.
Now it ought to become more clear why a bunch of mutants in Toyota pickup trucks was able to invade a country with one of the most advanced military forces in the world and kill 1,400+ people in the process.

I recommend all the Rabbis in Israel go back and re-read the Book of Ezekiel.
So Israel has chosen to engage in self-harm, being at war with the Almighty, even though it may pray, “Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword.” (Psalms 17:13)
So Israel has decided to ignore its own Religion? The very thing that brought them to where they are in the first place!
This policy is being “advanced” on the orders of the Obama/Biden homosexual regime.
If Israel wants US military aid, they must enact more depraved homosexual laws. It is a condition for getting the weapons. Democrats NEVER give something for nothing.
If this were, in fact, true, then the evangelicals' allies in Congress would be screaming about it from the rooftops.
Israel is a completely secular state; I think most of the country is quite comfortable with this although understandably, they have to downplay this so as not to offend certain Christians in the US who insist that this Israel and the Israel of the Bible are one and the same.
The country, Israel, as we know it, is secular.
Like the USA, Israel has a huge homo problem.
