An enraged McDonald’s customer says the fast food franchise is no longer affordable for ordinary Americans, calling the company’s contemporary prices “crazy.”
“So, I get there’s a labor shortage, I get there’s wage increases and a number of other things,” Idaho man Christopher Olive began in a viral TikTok clip, which has recently resurfaced.
“But $16? $16 for a burger, a large fry and a drink? It’s just crazy!” the flabbergasted content creator complained, panning to his itemized receipt from a McDonald’s restaurant in the city of Post Falls. For anyone that values food worthy of eating and can take 5 minutes to order something before leaving the house.
Sure, there’s still loads of people addicted to garbage and just drive to the drive through before they choose what they want.

A lot of the growth is also global - loads of stores opening in China.
I went to 5 Guys about a month ago. What used to cost around $9 is now $19. Not going back.
$15 an hour minimum = .25 a minute.
Seems reasonable to me for a high end metro area...+

I ate at the Five Guys in Mountain View, CA once about ten years ago. It was something like $14 for a burger, fries, and tax back then. I never went back and never will.
...and the avalanche of French Fries?
Five Guys is NOTORIOUS for French Fry overload; a large order of fries comes in a 20oz soft drink cup, which they put in a sack, then bury with more.
I was traveling with my son in Kill Devil Hills, NC last year and stopped into the Five guys out there. Each ordered a burger, drink and large fries — our order came out in two sacks and one of them was just for the fries: two 20oz cups full and buried 3/4 of the way to the top.
