$16 McDonald’s meal leaves fans fuming — beloved fast food chain ‘no longer affordable’

An enraged McDonald’s customer says the fast food franchise is no longer affordable for ordinary Americans, calling the company’s contemporary prices “crazy.”

“So, I get there’s a labor shortage, I get there’s wage increases and a number of other things,” Idaho man Christopher Olive began in a viral TikTok clip, which has recently resurfaced.

“But $16? $16 for a burger, a large fry and a drink? It’s just crazy!” the flabbergasted content creator complained, panning to his itemized receipt from a McDonald’s restaurant in the city of Post Falls. The video was original posted on social media last December, but has now gone viral again after McDonald’s recently reported an increase in revenue directly influenced by a “strategic” hike in menu prices.

Sorry but the first thing out of you mouth was to blame corporate greed, not buying it. The fake pandemic caused massive ‘employment issues such that business’s nah to offer higher wages in order to get a warm body the the $15.00 minimum wage for people to insult their customers then on top of that Kalifornia demands the hamburger flippers receive $20.00 an hour and the first response to ridiculous burger prices is corporate greed, that sounds conservative to you?

The story for those cities used to be: “Yes, they are pricey, but they are such beautiful areas and have great culture and nightlife, etc.”
I don’t know what the heck they can say to save them now.

I just looked at the local McDonald’s menu online. A Big Mac, fries and soft drink is $9.19.

Cheap fast food is gone. Thanks to 15+ dollar minimum wage demands plus Biden inflation. I got a 8 piece bucket of KFC yesterday and it cost me 30+ dollars. Crazy.

Burger King, central Indiana (Peru, IN), original chicken sandwich meal, $9.50, unless you ask for large fries, then it's a bit over $10.25.

But it's because of prices like this that I rarely eat out anymore.

I just looked at my local McD’s and Sonic online. Could not find a price of anything online unless I actually ordered or downloaded their app. I have enough apps already.

San Diego has great weather and very few blacks. That's really the only thing it has going for it.

I can order almost anything online in minutes, then drive to pick it up and it’s ready when I get there. I can do this for $13 all day long, actual GOOD FOOD.

The fast food model is dead.

It’s true, the “pandemic” measures did incalculable harm, but it’s not as if corporate greed is a new thing. It’s just been exacerbated by the pandemic and rotten politics. As far as having to pay sky high wages, that, of course, is not corporate’s fault. It is caused by a labor shortage due to a huge segment of our population who just plain doesn’t want to work, having seen they could get by without it during the “pandemic”, which imho, was part of a plan to get us to accept immigrants for the work force. Our economic problems can be laid directly at the feet of Joe Biden and his cohort.

I certainly do not celebrate businesses folding, especially small businesses, but anyone denying corporate greed is just plain deluded. You’ll notice corporate bigwigs never take a pay cut of their astronomical salaries, they just push the cost onto customers, and/or reduce the workforce, so that employees often have to do the work of more than one person. But almost all of our economic woes are the fault of Joe Biden and his cohort.

Von Mises demonstrated that capitalism is an economic system rationally planned by the combined, self-interested efforts of all who participate in it. If MacDonalds can make a higher rate of profit by charging higher prices means that it should do so.

A friend wanted me take him through McDooDoo’s drive through. The sandwich was ridiculously expensive and it may as well be a slider it was so small. The fries are so thin now you can practically see through them.

I haven’t gone there in years.

{(Other choices include sandwiches or a half roasted chicken).}

What does a fully roasted chicken cost?

Post Falls, ID is close enough to Spokane, WA to influence the wage rate. WA minimum wage is almost $16 per hour while ID is $7.25..
