Unlike its close ally the United States of America, Israel is not suffering from a lack of backbone or clarity at the top.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not gladly suffer fools who offer opinions on the role his country should play in fostering peace in the Middle East, especially when those fools aren't the ones getting shot at, raped, or bombed.
The aforementioned close ally has been flooded with protesters who are demanding a ceasefire and caterwauling about Israelis being at fault for being the victims of all of the shooting, raping, and bombing. Most of the protesters are young people who have been taught fictional history by commie, America-hating academics.
The logic of their position disintegrates under any rational scrutiny. Luckily for most of them, they inhabit college campuses and/or very blue cities, so they're immune to things like logic and rationality.
Netanyahu made some remarks on Monday that reiterated his position, and with an economy of words, simplified things for the frothing "Ceasefire!" hordes he's rebutting.
Netanyahu ruled out a ceasefire with Hamas, amid negotiations at the United Nations over a draft resolution calling for a pause in the conflict to allow civilian aid to be delivered to civilians in Gaza. “Calls for a ceasefire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism, to surrender to barbarism. That will not happen,” he said.

Well, we’re at least learning the truth about you, Mein Herr. Or is it Mein Fraulein?
One thing that is key to the Muslim culture is the Art of the Lie. There is not one thing more important than how to lie and get away with it.
More than any other mid eastern country I’d suppose. At some point the world is going to need the tip of the spear to hit Iran - hard, with decisive force without it being a direct US act. Israel will be that tip, IMO.
We have to understand that the Muslim Culture is one that gives high honor to the art of the lie. When the Prophet Muhammad said, "The smallest reward for the people of Paradise is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby," the Muslims understand that the Prophet was lying. For them, life ends with eternal death.
Our involvement and escalation (money, weapons, infrastructure) to U K R A I N E is what’s leading us ever closer to WWIII, not Israel.
Each and every Hamas butcher Israel kills is one that can NEVER come across our border. It’s as simple as that. Kill them there or face the problem of de-metastasizing them from this country.
There are no ‘innocent’ Palestinians in Gaza, period. Silence, complicity and support is the same as participating in the mass atrocity we’ve just witnessed.
“God blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who curse Israel.”
Too many people don’t know this.
“I wish them the best, and the innocent Palestinians,”
There’s no such thing as “innocent Palestinians”, except maybe the infants. And in a few years they will be thrilled to murder our infants.
Actually, there’s no such thing as Palestinians; it’s made up.
“WHAT does the U.S. get for its billions upon billions of dollars given to Ukraine?”
We the people get nothing back from $ given to Ukraine. OTOH, the USA pols get most of that money back in their pockets or offshore accounts after being laundered by Zelensky. OUR tax dollars. Children for trafficking also are sent here.
“What does it get from giving to Haiti?”
The USA elites get children to traffic.
“Nothing but a request for MORE.”
Not even requests. Zelensky DEMANDS more, the little turd.
“I don’t want our citizens dying in what is likely another endless war”
On that point, I don’t disagree with you.
Okay, so why are they not our ally? What is your point? Why don’t you read some history about WWII and stop looking for enemies?
The translations of the Holy Quran

there is no such book. there is only the koran, the hadiths, and sunnahs.
Calling them an ally is a narrative constantly pushed but with little substance. Israel and our politicians want us to believe we’re besties so as to keep defending them with troops and and an open checkbook.
Without Israel as our ally, the entire Middle East would have been Red in the 50’s. They would have controlled the oil trade and about 1/2 of the world trade that goes through the Suez.
But, it seems folks don’t have a sense of history any more.
Grow up.
It's not.
However, as long as millions of Americans err in this matter, the foreign policy decisions of the US are likely to reflect a widespread belief that the two entities are one and the same.
So, at the end of the day you have to simply weigh this salient fact with your consideration of America as a whole and whether you want to remain here or not (and, if you choose to remain, how much gusto you want to put into your citizenship).
“You sound like a combo of Joseph Goebbels and Louis Farrakhan. You hate Israel. You think Jews are some kind of toxic poison in society. We’ve heard all this kind of shite before I am suprised you and the nazi trash who echo your garbage, are allowed to do so on a conservative site like FR. TYou have nothing in common with the leading Conservative in U.S politics at the moment. That’s for sur”
Thank you for turning over the rock this worm is crawling out from.
— there is no such book. there is only the koran, the hadiths, and sunnahs.
Seems to depend on who translates it.
In Gutenberg it is spelled "Koran", elsewhere, more recently, I've seen it more with a "Qu".
Either one, in English phonics sounds similar to the other.
I wonder which one most English speaking Muslims would prefer?

Arabic - all other versions are perversions of the original. The koran (small ‘k’ because it is a political cult, not a religion).
The koran wad copied some 200 years after Mohammad fled Mecca and was assassinated (likely in Medina [the far mosque]) from wall hangings and scrolls from the original old Syriac. ‘Official’ copies, since the original compilation, keep all the imperfections, notes, stains, etc.
