The next phase of Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip has begun, with Israel starting to move troops and armored vehicles over the border into the Palestinian territory.
But much of the war between Israel and Hamas, which governs Gaza, may be fought not on the territory's streets, but instead underneath them — where Hamas is believed to have built an elaborate network of tunnels, and where the militant group is also hiding hostages.

Sea water is not far away and would ruin ammo and arms. Someone on the Freep said that last week. They should be in charge over there. Good idea if you ask me.300 miles of tunnels flooded with sea water. Eventually it would squirt out of the ground along with the rats. Shoot them as they wash out. Just like unclogging a toilet.

Use the rubble from the buildings you level and make concrete. Pour that in the tunnels.

The Israelis have some type of ‘bomb’ that makes a hard plug where the tunnel entrances would be blocked...
Apparently they have all sorts of goodies...

flood the tunnelsNOW is the time for Israel to declare nuclear status by peacefully detonating a 100kt nuclear weapon below Gaza, OR, alternatively, several 10-30kt nuclear weapons to:
1) prove nuclear status and send warning,
2) destroy most of the tunnels,
3) create untunnelable barrier between Israel and Gaza (if Israel is dumb enough to keep them as neighbors).
Lots of studies done during Operation Plowshares for peaceful nuclear engineering. It would destroy most, if not all tunnels under Gaza City, and little release of radiation, unless you dig down to the detonation chamber 1000m down.
Sedan crater, above, proof that you need to drill deeper unless you want to nuclear engineer a ditch/lake/harbor/ canal THAT deep.
