Hamas is feared to be using fuel intended to help the humanitarian effort in Gaza to power its underground tunnel network.
The Israel Defence Forces have published aerial imagery supposedly showing Hamas storage tanks containing 'more than 500,000 litres of fuel'.
Military experts are concerned that the terror group has begun exploiting the crisis response to Israeli airstrikes by seizing critical fuel supplies.
The labyrinthine system of tunnels snaking below the Gaza Strip, thought to stretch for hundreds of miles, is thought to be Hamas's key defence against an Israeli ground invasion. The tactic relies on constant fuel supplies. Yesterday it was reported that the Israelis are poised to deploy a new weapon dubbed the 'sponge bomb' to disable these tunnels.
It contains chemicals which rapidly expand and harden, and can be dropped into the tunnels to trap attackers or secure safe routes for commandos.

I’m no expert on siege warfare, but I would think it counterproductive for the siegers to send fuel and supplies to the siegees.
If Israel doesn’t know where the fuel is stored, they’ve missed a good bet.
If they’d hoard fuel that was meant for the Palestinians, they wouldn’t take “humanitarian” money meant for them and use it for war materials, would they? That’d be low. I almost would trust sending them anymore money if that were the case.
Every generator is very, very easy to find at night.
They may as well send up a flare.
Blow up the storage tanks.
UV markers can be placed in fuel that give the exhaust a detectable signature.
There needs to be a total siege. No trucks allowed. The Israel Air Force can air drop MRE and water bottles in Gaza. If the wounded needs to evacuate, they can go to Egypt. If Egypt refuses to play ball, too bad. That's war.

Ya don’t say......hmmmmm who would have imagined
Claude Raines, please pick up the white courtesy phone. Claude Raines…
That’s a GREAT idea! I hope Israel has thought of that.
Like that's never happened anywhere before. You'd think they'd have learned by now. Insanity is doing the same thing over, and over, and expecting a different result the next time.
Duh.

When they spoke of sending into Gaza my first thought was that those who are suffering will never see it.
No. Rupture them and spill all the contents. Then ignite the area. Have a wienie roast.
Gee, ya think??????
Just like every other despotic regime does with humanitarian aid.
Who would have imagined?
each day the tunnels will need less and less power.
Exactly what I was gonna say. We’ve seen this time and time again and they really thought it would be different the 25th time in a row?
