The US House of Representatives on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a resolution expressing support for Israel in its war against Hamas.
The resolution, titled “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists”, passed by a majority of 412 to 10.
Nine of the ten “no” votes were by Democrats: Reps. Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Andre Carson, Al Green, Summer Lee, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Delia Ramirez and Rashida Tlaib.
The lone Republican no vote was from Rep. Thomas Massie.
The resolution states that the House of Representatives “stands with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists, reaffirms Israel’s right to self-defense and condemns Hamas’ brutal war against Israel.”

“...Ukraine never really got much traction...”
The US has many more interests in the Ukraine than in Gaza they don’t want public. All the information you have been getting for that has been sanitized. Just check the dollar amounts going there so we can keep what we are doing out of the media.

How about MENTAL Health.
The shooter in Maine said he heard voices in his head telling him to commit a mass shooting. IT WAS KNOWN AND HAPPENED!
How many BILLION$ are spent on ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that could be spent on mental health?
Like a bandaid for a gutshot, it means nothing.
They finally get back to work and THIS is their priority???
Jamaal Bowman votes “no,” against Israel before he goes to court today to plead guilty to pulling the fire alarm in Congress. He’s a bona fide pile of _____.
As I’ve pointed out many times in the past, Massie has made a career out of his meaningless, sanctimonious opposition to bills that pass in the House by margins of 400+ votes.
There are many times when 100% dedication to principles is 100% self defeating of those principles. I like Massie, but he falls for this trap.
Good reasons to vote against it.
Took a bit of courage, too.
Maybe Massie should have been made the speaker.
Resoltions authorize nothing, they are a statment of supported principlas/ideas/positions. Massie seems unware of how little are legal requirements that House “resolutions” impose on anyone, and in error he believes they are capable of doing more than than they can - just so he can make some personal points.
Yet Massie ignores the legal matters of the resolution he opposes, which is that the resolution cannot dictate the things that Massie says he opposes. The resolution cannot impose sanctions, cannot command any foreign engagement and cannot authorize military support for another country; it is no more than a non-binding resolution supporting those ideas, each of which would require separate action by Congress.
Massie does not understand the legalities of different kinds of actions by Congress. Why is he in Congress.
Exactly, ok fine now do something about the border and the Biden crime family.
so at least 9 think all Jews should die, good to know.
“You are correct that this 75-year long war will end when someone achieves victory.”
1. No. It will end when the “two-state” solution Arab politicians in the West Bank and Gaza admit defeat, and choose to live peacefully side by side with Israel. That is what Israel has always proposed and waited for.
2. Israel has had the ability to “eliminate the problem” - expell from Gaza (or the West Bank) all persons who do not want to live in peace with Israel (just like when the King of Jordan expelled Arafat and his minions from the West Bank when they fomented a civil war against him - and he sent them all to Lebanon, and Arafat to Egypt).
3. But that is not the kind of country Israel is. When Israel was formed every Arab living in Israel (and all their descendents born in Israel) became Isaeli citizens and are now about 1/5 the Israeli population. Israel’s position has always been it is not at war “with the Arabs”, just those folks that want and choose to make war with it.
4. Israel is secure, in spite of the security situation and anyone believing differently and expecting to “defeat” Israel will be shown the error of that belief.
Can’t, football season bruh….
In other words, the war will end when they oblige Israel by "admitting defeat" without being defeated and without imposing the burden of achieving victory on their enemy.
In other words, never.
It lets all of us know the useful idiots in the GOP Congress.
“ It calls for sanctions on a sovereign country. ”
Which sovereign country?
So we have 10 terrorist humpers in congress the ones with the biggest mouths
I'm right there with you. I've dissuaded both my boys to stay away from enlistment. And that's after a series of family enlistments: Grandfather and his brother in WWII, his youngest brother in Korean, my Dad during Vietnam, I served during Desert Storm along with two my cousins, then my brother. There the lines ends. All because the military has become way to screwed up.
