US military officials are trying to convince Israel against carrying out a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas's October 7 massacre, CNN reported on Wednesday citing "several sources familiar with the matter."
As per the report, American officials advised the IDF against a counter-invasion, with the fear it could "endanger hostages, civilians, and further inflame tensions in the region."
Instead, the IDF was urged to deploy a "combination of precision airstrikes and targeted special operations raids" across the Strip.

Hey, I’ve got an idea. Israel can make a big announcement that they did a raid in the middle of the night and killed the leaders of Hamas. Then refuse to show any videos of the raid or pictures of the bodies. Then dump the bodies in the ocean because of “Islamic burial practices” or something.
Yeah, that should end it all, right?
Problem is, Israel is on the USA payroll so they can’t tell Biden to 🖕🏻. Well they can, but like my dad said to me when I was a kid, “you can do whatever you want as long as you’re willing to accept the consequences.”

Israel has no choice but to launch a ground assault. The Hamas terrorists have hundreds of miles of tunnels deep underground. They can never purge them without being on the ground.

As Napoleon rightly noted to delay in war is to lose. Yet mindless audacity often does not result in victory. Netanyahu faces a horrendous choice. He knows that if he sends his young enthusiastic soldiers into the labrinth of Gaza they will experience horrendous combat with a fanatical suicidal enemy, will take significant casualties and are unlikely to free alive any of the helpless hostages. If he does not tke Gaza and clean out the tunnels, Hamas will claim a great victory and will remain largely intact and capable of future atrocities.

Yes. Listen to the experts who’ve done so well. Maybe Israel could pattern their counteroffensive after the one these geniuses came up with in Ukraine.
