Rite Aid said it will close 150 of its 2,100 US locations after filing for bankruptcy..

CVS is set to close the doors on 900 of its stores by the end of 2024..

Walgreens will shutter 150 stores by summer 2024 - leaving millions in 'pharmacy deserts' .

The nation's largest drugstore chains, Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens, will shutter more than 1,500 stores, leaving millions of Americans without access to healthcare in 'pharmacy deserts.'

Rite Aid said it will close 150 of its 2,100 US locations after they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month.

The pharmacy chain has been unable to settle hundreds of lawsuits that accused them of overprescribing opioids and has struggled to keep up with competitors.

A slew of drugstore chains slashing their locations has left millions of people living in areas where it's difficult to obtain medication, areas known as 'pharmacy deserts,'

...

CVS made the reforms to adjust to the needs of online shoppers while battling rampant shoplifting.

In September, CVS store manager Michael Jacobs, 49, was shot and killed by customer accused of shoplifting in Arizona.

Photos show barren shelves in a DC CVS store that is routinely ransacked by groups of up to 50 teenagers.

CapitalOne Research estimated stores had lost $86.6 billion to retail theft in 2022 and projected that by 2025, retail theft may cost stores over $115 billion.

Over expansion and market saturation.

Anyone remember the failed Grants Department Stores?

Different products but same failed business plan. Too much overhead.

When society deliberately breeds whole generations of sociopathic feral animals, this is the predictable result.

The America of Soylent Green with everyone primed for violence if they get out of line is coming soon. “Farms and food supply routes are all guarded by heavily armed forces.”
Charlton Heston: “Of course.”

The film was about more than “soylent green is people.” The dehumanization and fear in urban areas was a big part.

“Over expansion and market saturation.”

They should team up with a new brand and open kiosks at the southern border, millions of customers a year in small areas.

Food deserts and pharmacy deserts are spreading.

My prediction: Democrat politicians will let the pain continue for awhile. Then they will step in, and open government grocery stores and government pharmacies. And who cares if those stores lose money?

The taxpayer can always make up the difference.

I think YOU are spot on!

Just like 0blama’s health “care”....it’s all a grift operation, for TPTB, while the plebs suffer.

The stores aren’t looting themselves.

If people don’t want food or pharmacy deserts, then they need to stop the behavior that is causing the stores to shut down.

I switched to Amazon Pharmacy, which I highly recommend. Brick and mortar box store pharmacies treat you like you are annoying cattle. They are in the same state as airline travel carriers. Just awful with no choices of any difference.

Amazon Pharmacy has their act together. They (Amazon) save me about 8 hours a month of nonsense.

Once the federal government saw Healthcare withholding in paychecks was exceeding the federal taxes withholding, the government was destined to enter the Healthcare game.

No no no. It’s always someone else’s fault. Personal responsibility is not in the “progressive “ agenda.

Rite Aid? I wasn’t aware that they were still around. We had some in the Charleston, SC area but they closed well over a decade ago. Now I see that there are none south of Virginia or east of Nevada. They’re only in the Northeast, Ohio, Idaho, and the West Coast.

Last words I had with Walgreens were “F*** you”.
Worthless shitbags.
I now go to a local pharmy where they get stuff correct.
Way better.

Do I need to repeat F*** Walgreens.

...and here lies a big portion of the problem.
