Newt stayed in the 2012 presidential race so long that he helped make Romney the nominee. He won only GA and SC and thought that alone entitled him to the nomination. Rick Santorum could have potentially beaten Romney in a head-to-head match. Huckabee was also in that race.

..... Hey .... Since the Republicans are so Feckless and Dysfunctional that not enough would ever vote for any given Speaker nominee given that none of the nominees are actually perfect .....
... SO .... Here's a Thought .... Why don't the Republicans just ask the Democrats who they want as Speaker???? I am sure all of the Democrats would vote for that person and enough RINO's would cross the isle and vote to clinch the deal!!!!
