House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said Tuesday that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) committed to linking Israel and Ukraine aid packages as he seeks to shore up support for his Speakership bid.
McCaul is among a number of moderate Republicans who have come around to backing Jordan this week after meetings with the former far-right Freedom Caucus chairman.
McCaul told CNN’s Kate Bolduan that one deciding factor for him was Jordan’s commitment to linking U.S. aid for Israel’s war against Hamas with funding for Ukraine’s war against Russia.
“Well, I had a very good conversation with him. I was concerned about national security issues, particularly if we pass an Israeli supplemental national security bill, would Ukraine be included in that?” McCaul said.
“And I was assured that he could link the two. He would look at the details of that, but that was very important to me.”

And that's 71% of the Republican electorate too.
And there's a bunch of folks here who are advocating for this scumbag.
Well he’s not getting the votes anyways
I mean, whaddaya want? A Democrat Speaker who will support Biden's $100 billion? I mean, what are you, a purist?
Once we get the House majority, we Republicans will stop the spending! This time for sure!

Linking Israel and Ukraine aid is as bad as what sellers of mortgage-backed securities did in the late 00’s: mixing good mortgages with bad ones to make packages more palatable to gullible investors.
Today, we taxpayers are the gullible investors.
I am not a huge fan of Jim (Big Tech) Jordan.
But you still have half the Repubs and all the Dems who support Ukraine aid.
So unless the House leadership is actively going to block it, at least one more round is going to go thru.
If Jordan says as Speaker he won’t allow Ukraine aid, he won’t get voted as speaker.
There is going to be one more round of Ukraine aid before they pull the plug on this slaughter.
Link? OK.
Both get $0!
How about linking all foreign aid to building the wall and enforcing immigration laws?
“But you still have half the Repubs and...”
NOT TRUE!!!
Over half are opposed to any further Ukraine aid.
Thier is always 1 more round.
The Hill via Yahoo. These leftists want to stop Jordon by any means necessary. Jordon has only agreed to a floor vote. This story is meant to make us turn on Jordon
he’s supposed to stop the dark side, not join them!
The last caucus vote showed 134 members opposed to any further aid.
“Jordon has only agreed to a floor vote.”
Against the wishes of the majority of Republican members, Jordan will put a bill on the floor that requires the vast majority of Democrats to pass.
And you’re OK with that.
It is difficult to understand how the Republicans, who have been getting cheated and screwed by illegal mail in ballots, refuse to make that their first priority. Somehow, having honest and clean elections is less important than foreign military aid. Why is that?
Olympia Snowe voted for cloture on Obamacare, she could have stopped it dead in its tracks.
Isn’t the a similar version of the same article that Axios put out yesterday?
Right on cue, calls here on FR for dumping Jordan were rampant
Without verifying the source of all of it
I count 80 members get an F

In any case, with 212 Dem votes they don’t need very many. They can do a Discharge Petition on this and the leadership can’t stop it.
Actually, “Biden’s proposal” of $100B reportedly includes some for border security. But no details released. I put “Biden’s proposal” in quotes because it was actually Trump’s proposal which Democrats blocked and sued to prevent implementation of other funds. Now as election season approaches, he wants to build a wall?
RINOs.
Finally!
the legendary GOP voter opposed to Jordan.
It took me days to locate such a legend.
a SINGLE Republican voter has a problem with Jim Jordan as Speaker.
The VAST MAJORITY of GOP voters are THRILLED about it.
Why are 8 ‘Republican’ Members of Congress bitterly opposed to Speaker Jordan?
They’re bought, compromised & despise their voters
