About 25% of Blue Bloods are “officer was shot at and killed the teen but no gun was found” “detective is being brought up on felony charges after shooting suspect’s arrest” “perp was not mirandized properly” “officer is accused of intimidating the suspect into the confession.”
WHY would someone stay in any police force with all the insults, suspensions, lawsuits and slander?

I’ve seen a few recent videos on YouTube involving the NYPD.
Oh. My. Goodness. Most of the younger cops looked lost and clueless. Not really unprofessional, but clueless. It was as if New York just grabbed kids off the street and said, “Here, put this uniform on.”
I guess you’ve got to keep lowering standards until you get the numbers you need.

Let’s see… be a cop on a pinko city. Have every Tom, Duck, and Harry sharpshooting your every move. Arrest the bad guys and probably get assaulted yourself along the way, to include bodily fluids and needles. Have a pinko DA and entire legal system let the criminal right back into the streets again.

I presently have two nephews who are NYPD and both are on their way out in less than five years. Each is on the wait list for different PD’s and one with DHS

Hire migrants, they will do an outstanding job, after all south American and Mexican cops are know for honesty and virtue.
To work as a NY Cop and face NY prices, taxes, fentanyl, BLM and @$$hole woke politicians, judges and citizens?
My minimum would be $500K per year.
Let Mayor Adams, a former police officer himself, go back on the job. He helped make the mess, let him solve it.
Let Mayor Adams see reach out to his predecessor Kaiser Wilhelm Deblasio who fired Officer Panteleo despite two juries finding no cause to charge him.

Taking effect in the 2021 fiscal year, the $1 billion in NYPD cuts will come from a combination of sources. New York City reduced a billion dollars from the NYPD in its city budget for the next year.
Police reform advocates, cop supporters and President Trump expressed their discontent with slashing the NYPD's budget.
For the 2021 fiscal year, the $1 billion reduction in the NYPD's operating budget includes $484 million in cuts to the department; shifting the command of school officers to the Department of Education; eliminating two of the four NYPD training classes this year, which reduced headcount by 1,163 uniform officers; and reducing overtime spending by $352 million, according to the city council.
