LinkedIn is laying off more than 660 workers across its engineering, product, talent and finance teams, the employment-focused social media site announced Monday.
“Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business,” the company said in a news release.
This marks LinkedIn’s second round of major layoffs this year, after it announced its plans to cut more than 700 jobs in May amid efforts to make “changes to our Global Business Organization (GBO) and our China strategy.”
In a Monday email to employees, which was obtained by Insider, LinkedIn executives said the latest round of layoffs reflected a need to “evolve how we work and what we prioritize so we can deliver of the key initiatives we’ve identified.”

Almost every day I have to clear out Chinese interlopers whom I don’t know who are trying to connect with me!!!!
Stop the Chinese communist invasion!!!!
Learn to code.
Gee, what a shame
I used Linkedin for five minutes after watching the grand opening in 2003. Boring then and boring now. It’s just a place for narcissists to brag how great they are.
666 ?
More than 660.
As long as they have fired their HNB, and then getting rid of overseas employees first.
They’ve been LinkedOff. Maybe they can learn to code?

Now....get out!
About a decade ago, a former employer forced us to keep accounts there for marketing and sales, and my email was promptly stolen and used to spoof all of Germany. Created a heckuva mess that I still have to deal with, and all I got was a lousy 1-year credit monitoring service for free.
I got ‘furloughed’ in 2010, which was actually a permanent layoff. It wasn’t fun, so on that level, I feel sorry for people in general who lose their employment.
HOWEVER, for some of these companies (Leftist, woke, whatever you call them) that have been practicing ‘cancel culture’ (and LinkedIn certainly has), I am having a really hard time dredging up much sympathy because I know how badly they have hurt good people whose ‘difference of opinion’ they just could not tolerate.
I dumped that PC piece of crap years ago.
I found LinkedIn useful until Microsoft bought it. I stayed off during my last layoff. The main drawback was Indian recruiters being puzzled as to why I disn’t have a LinkedIn account. The whole privacy thing never gets near their radar.
Such a shame. /s
Linked In is woke and that’s why they, like Budweiser, are being “forced” to lay people off.
I cancelled my longtime membership two weeks ago. I refuse to associate myself directly or indirectly with WOKENESS.
