Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) doubled down Friday on her criticism of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), saying if he becomes Speaker, Republicans will lose control of the House in the next election — and rightly so.
“If Rs nominate Jordan to be Speaker, they will be abandoning the Constitution. They’ll lose the House majority and they’ll deserve to,” Cheney wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

No, she doesn’t have a point. How badly did she lose? Her thinking isn’t in line with Republican voters and a lot has happened since her loss.
Not a Cheney fan by any means, but she does have a valid point.
What? That Jordan will abandon the constitution?
She got 28 percent of the vote in the Wyoming primary against Harriet Hageman and 90 percent of that came from Dem crossovers.
I come from the world of practical reality.
McCarthy, lame as he may have been, was trying to hold a very tenuous coalition of Republicans, many of whom hate each other more than they hate the Democrats together, and he was treading water.
Ask yourself this question, " Do I want the Democrats to have de facto control of Congress and the White House in the most critical election year in the history of America."
Kevin McCarthy was our only fire wall against Democrat corruption and lawlessness and he was doing all he could to hold the Fort until the Cavalry came in 2024. We shall see where this takes us.
I hope Jim Jordan can prevail but forces are lining up against him.
Wow. She’s still saying stuff.
Yes, FR would be a better place, if fewer (none) posts about what Liz Cheney, or the psychos on the View had to say, were posted.
None of them matter.
When has she ever been correct?
Jim Jordan thanks Cheney for the endorsement.
Lizzy your speaker McCarthy already made that a coming fact. The GOP was told before 2022 no more lies and BS and you didn’t believe it. Jordan may save the House, but otherwise it’s already gone.
What? That Jordan will abandon the constitution?
Her point is that deposing McCarthy may backfire on Republicans and result in the election of a “bi partisan” new Speaker resulting from Republican - Democrat coalition who is far worse than Kevin McCarthy could ever be.
Under the current hand McCarthy was dealt, he has very little political room to maneuver with ultra slim majority in the House, an insane Democrat Senate and President to deal with and a significant fraction of his own Republicans in cahoots with the Democrats.
McCarthy was shooting to do what he could under near impossible circumstances and hold the status quo together in the hopes Republicans win in 2024. If by deposing McCarthy, we end up with a disaster for Speaker, the Democrats will control everything and may just run the tables on us in the 2024 election
Maybe she fears a real J6 investigation, which would implicate her.
Wellll...
That seals the deal for me...
Jordan it is!!!

I think she was a little more precise in saying that Jordan would be a disaster and abandon the constitution. Do you agree with that?
I got a better question to ask...
Do you want bush league chamber of commerce worshipping republiCAN’Ts in power, or not?
Anyone that backs a bushie is a traitor dressed up as a Republican.
Period.
” irrelevant.”
You took the word right out of my mouth.
Jordan’s not going to get the nod.
On Sept. 27 Andy Biggs amendment to decrease Ukraine funding was defeated. All Democrats voted against it, and Republicans rejected it 117-104. (Not coincidentally 113 reps voted against Jordan in the first go-round.)
If the majority of the caucus wants to continue funding the Ukrainians how does an opponent to it get picked? It’s certainly one of the biggest issues facing the House in the near term and he’s on the wrong side arithmetically.
I’m NOT stating a position on the issue but merely pointing the reality of the battleground for the speakership.
If Cheney is so smart, how come she could not win her own election? Yeah, I’m real worried about her opinion.
That bitch is a Hillary Clinton clone!
