The Justice Department is seeking 8 years in prison for a Pennsylvania woman accused of directing Jan. 6 rioters into the Capitol building with a bullhorn.
Federal prosecutors said in a sentencing memo Wednesday that they are seeking eight years in prison for Rachel Marie Powell, 41, who was convicted of all charges brought against her in July. Obstruction of an official proceeding, destruction of government property, entering a restricted area with a weapon and engaging in violence on Capitol grounds were among her charges.
The prosecutors said that they are seeking the eight-year sentence due to “her conduct on January 6, 2021, including her violent altercations with law enforcement at the West Plaza, her smashing of a window at the Lower West Terrace with an ice axe and a cardboard pole, her encouragement and instructions to other rioters on how to ‘take’ the U.S. Capitol, and for her utter lack of remorse.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 22-year-old man has been sentenced in connection to the shooting death of his 16-year-old girlfriend, according to court records.
Alexander Valenzuela was sentenced to 90 days in the Harris County Jail and six years of deferred adjudication community supervision. He has also been ordered to attend an Intermediate Sanctions Facility for cognitive behavioral treatment for at least 45 days, court records show.
Valenzuela was initially charged with murder in the death of Ciana “Cici” Castro in April 2021. Her mother, Dulce Rodriguez, told ABC13 she was shocked by what she called a “light” sentence and explained she was so surprised when Judge Jason Luong handed it down on Dec.13 that she had to be quieted. Castro’s father had to be escorted out.

As part of a plea agreement, Vaughn pleaded guilty to one count of criminal vehicular homicide and was sentenced to a presumptive, guideline sentence of 48 months in prison.
In exchange for his plea, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office dropped a second count of criminal vehicular homicide.
When Trump gets elected these people are going to have to pay for the outright revenge politics they are visiting upon the January 6 protestors.
This is utter madness. Not one government official was actually harmed - the only person killed was murdered by a leftist Capitol Police Officer.

Rachel Marie Powell ...sounds like Antifa or Robert Creamer hired agitator or some of that ilk. Who but a leftwing nut goes to a speech with an ice axe?
While Tlaib is a member of Congress and did not condemn Hamas on the beheadings of babies. And flies the Palestinian flag outside her congressional office.

The only people who could have and did benefit from the riot were the Democrats and antitrumpers. Trump could not have benefited in any way from it even if he was a wannabe revolutionary (which he isnt) and even if the rioters had taken the Capitol, which they most certainly were not equipped to do. That's what makes me think everyone who was there instead of down the mall listening to his speech was an actor working for the Dems, the whole point being to prevent Trump's case from being made.
For many years I have seen posts similar to this on FR. By themselves, I don't think such statements prove violent intent, but if you are ever in the general area where violence occurs, federal prosecutors like to use such posts in criminal trials like that of Rachel Marie Powell. And it is possible for DC jurors, for example, to take such posts as evidence to convict you.
I don't know all the facts in this case, and part of that reason is the government has not released the video.

"everyone who was there?" I don't think that is fair. Maybe that is true for some of those present, but it's unlikely to be "everyone."
