RFK Jr.'s Independent Run Is Why Republicans Lose
RedState ^ | Sept. 29, 2023 | Bonchie

As RedState reported, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set to launch an independent presidential campaign after first challenging Joe Biden for the Democratic Party nomination.

According to multiple sources, the official announcement will come on October 9th in Pennsylvania.

2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to announce he will run as an independent on October 9 in Pennsylvania, Mediaite has learned.

Kennedy’s campaign machine is now planning “attack ads” against the Democratic National Committee in order to “pave the way” for his announcement in Philadelphia about running as an independent, according to a text reviewed by Mediaite.

This is not good news for Republicans, and there's empirical evidence to back that up. According to the latest polling, RFK Jr. enjoys a very high approval rating among Republicans while he's extremely disliked by Democrats.

If this does happen (and it's a big if!) it could easily backfire on the GOP nominee. Kennedy is significantly more popular among Republican voters than among Democrats. QPac poll found him +30 among GOP, -43 among Dems. Siena had him +36 among Trump voters, -35 among Biden. https://t.co/yc3RoxaoKr pic.twitter.com/Xf3IXf6Qs4

— Jacob Rubashkin (@JacobRubashkin) September 29, 2023 I'm not the only one worried about that dynamic either. Several of Donald Trump's biggest boosters are sounding the alarm as well.

— Jack Poso 🇺🇸 (@JackPosobiec) September 29, 2023 None of this is happening in a vacuum. In fact, the two people I just quoted above were some of RFK Jr.'s biggest promoters, and they are hardly alone on the right. Many conservatives, specifically those skeptical of the COVID-19 vaccines, latched onto RFK Jr. very early in the cycle as some kind of anti-establishment figure. In fact, the only reason he has much of a platform today is because of right-wing media.

> RFK Jr will take Trump apart… <

I respectfully disagree. Many old-time Democrats voted for Biden in 2020 simply because of name recognition. Many of these voters will vote for RFK Jr in 2024 simply because of name recognition.

I’ve been wrong before. But I see an independent run by RFK Jr as a net gain for Trump.

Yep.

I’m in the hyper-cynical camp, however, in that I think both RFKJ and Trump are controlled oppo.

Junior has no choice since his OWN dim party ignores him as the black out from leftist Media!

A threat to Trump by his base has never been a problem!
The Swamp is what is after Trump!\ All his supporters know this!

Are you lost on the obvious going on... Try again and Circle back to catch a clue! ;)

At this point RFK Jr. is ideologically mercurial.

In the General Election, he can position himself to take votes away from the Democrat nominee, or he can position himself to take votes away from Trump.

RFK Jr. knows he cannot win, but he knows he can swing the election, and get a seat at the table.

And that is all the Kennedy’s want, a seat at the table.

Nope. RFK is popular with Republicans the same way Gabbard was in 2016. GOP loves seeing someone do to the Demos what John McCain, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheny and so many other did for years to the GOP. Everyone loves the opposition candidate who busy trashing their party in the primary. However once RFK is an actual candidate and it a choice between his wacko Alt Leftist dogma and the GOP candidate, he will melt like a snowball in the AZ desert in July

Ronald Reagan won despite significant third party/”independent” candidates.

From the article: “According to the latest polling, RFK Jr. enjoys a very high approval rating among Republicans while he’s extremely disliked by Democrats.”

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

RedState forgets that Biden ain’t exactly killing it with Democrats. I believe RFK would siphon off more Democrat voters than Trump voters.

And, EEE, you are exactly correct in saying that RedState is the GOP Establishment’s mouthpiece, much like Bill Kristol’s National Review.

Every vote RFK2 takes from Biden makes it harder for the Dems to steal the election. We should expect that RFK2 will have more progressive policies on things like student loan reform, etc. Progressives disillusioned with Biden are also very likely to support needed electoral reforms, like ending proprietary voting machines, etc. The ruling class is actually neither conservative nor progressive. The more people who see the truth of the Uniparty, the faster real reforms will come.

I think much of it depends on who will be the democrat’s nominee. I don’t believe biden will be on the ballot.

If biden is on the ballot, it will hurt democrats more. Many don’t want to vote for him.

I believe it will be Newsom. He’s got a disaster in CA but he can spin it better than biden. More democrats would vote for him than biden in 2024.

Not to mention the fact that today, there are far more people who don't revere the Kennedy name, or even know about JFK and Bobby, than there are people who DO know about RFK Jr's relationship to his father and uncle.

And Bidden is a self proclaimed CATHOLIC, so that fact holds NO water anymore.

And besides RFK Jr.'s crazy lefty ideas, his private life STINKS and is public knowledge.

No liberal that has seen the media's smear campaign against RFK JR will touch him, because they are easily led, malleable sheep who are easily mind controlled and will do whatever the masters tell them to do. In this case, it is "Don't pay any mind to RFK Jr."

If Trump is taken out before the election that very well may not happen by then, RFK will take more voted from the non-Trump candidate than Obama or Biden.

I dont believe he’s done with Democrats despite his statements that they haven’t been helping him, if he wins, he will be 100% Democrat.

Let’s all see what happens with the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, No Labels, the Constitution Party, and with any other possible Independent runs for ‘24 POTUS, before coming to the definite conclusion that Donald Trump is in any kind of trouble. Political cheating, by The Left/Anti-Trump RINOS, should be much more of a concern for all conservatives.

The Libertarian party has primaries and a convention, RFK Jr. Has to win that if he wants to join that party.
