Better distracted than demented.
Apparently you have more hate for DeSantis than for Newsom. Newsom challenged DeSantis to a debate; DeSantis accepted; Newsom knows he would get his ass kicked thirteen different ways from Saturday, so he’s cowardly trying to cover his ass for cowardly backing out.
Why shouldn’t the governor of the second largest Republican state (about to become first largest) take on the governor of the largest Democrat State? Why shouldn’t DeSantis get some free airtime and prove his one-on-one debate chops and promote/defend his conservative views? The only reason NOT to is if you’re afraid you’ll LOSE the debate, and end up letting the other guy promote HIS views

He’s got a point, as it shows just how DESPERATE Rove is.
I’m not sure of the proper psychological name of it, but I have known people who have this sort of interchange:
“I think we should order a pizza for dinner.”
“I agree.”
“You’re an idiot. Pizza for dinner would be the world decision ever.”
What we actually have here is:
“Hey, Ron, I think we should debate.”
“I agree.”
“You’re an idiot. That is the worst decision ever.”

This is Newsome trying to cause DeSantis to back out of the debate. Newsome wants out.
Newsome is a joke and doesn’t know it.
“The fact that he took this debate, the fact that he took the bait in relation to this debate, shows that he’s completely unqualified to be president of the United States,” he said.

I hear people saying Newsome is a lightweight and would be a lousy debater. Has DeSantis done that compelling a job in the two debates he has been in recently?
If Biden is switched out by the DNC, Newsom is very likely to be a strong contender for the 2024 election. The enthusiasm for Newsom will make it a lot easier for the Democrats to sell than Biden. They might not even have to cheat as much.
Trump Newsome 2024. Their records on gun control, DACA amnesty, covid tyranny complete with mail in ballots and blank checks to big pharma, unvetted Syrians, support for groomers and a man can become a woman.
Can you imagine how much everyone would like trump then.
He ifs so far left on family that no one in their right mind would trust him to run the country again.
