47% of Democrats say that speech should be legal “only under certain circumstances.

Their Marxist sign is showing network lemmings feel lucky.

Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis wrote in 1927, “If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehood and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence.”

Democrats have been totalitarians for decades. People are finally realizing that, but it may be too late.

Hey Me-Again, remember when you tried to stab Trump in the back over *his* speech, during one of the early GOP debates, and he owned you instead?

Remember how you then went and cut your hair short like a scorned woman?

And you still don’t get it, do you?

I just remember when she tried to throw the debate to Trump by bringing up Rosie O’Donnell.

I’m probably a bit older than the average person here at FR (62), but I distinctly remember many liberals during my childhood (specifically including teachers) saying words to the effect of, “I may disagree with you vehemently, but I will defend to the death your right to disagree with me.”

Evidently, liberals of this type are an endangered species, with the few survivors living in nursing homes and drooling all over themselves. They’ve been replaced with their far less tolerant (and far more Collectivist) children and grandchildren (and a bunch of immigrants) who have no idea what individual liberties really are and why they must be zealously guarded. Fortunately, it seems that 5 or 6 of the current Supreme Court Justices agree with the old liberals about the value of defending free speech and other individual liberties.

This is sad beyond belief, but is a not unexpected result of the purposely deficient education that we have given our children in both history and civics for most of the last 2 generations.

“Pretty soon they will be at the same levels of the German people in 1938 about the Jews. Funny how the ones who call everyone else fascists are the real fascists”

We’re not too far from that, you’re correct. Though these people aren’t really fascists, but part of a larger cult, Collectivism. That cult includes not just Fascism and Nazism, but also every stripe of Socialism and Communism, plus any other ideologies that view the rights of the individual as less important (or non-existent) vs. the “rights” of the nation/state/people/whatever to shut them up, imprison them or just plain murder them because it serves the interests of those in charge. They are all the same, regardless of what language they speak, what uniform they wear, what flag they fly, etc. - it is Collectivists vs. Individualists (those who view the rights of the individual as paramount, and protecting those rights as the very reason for the existence of government).

Oh, and the correct word is “ironic,” not “funny” - though I know what you meant. I just cannot bring myself to use the word “funny” WRT what the Collectivists did in the early part of the 20th Century in Europe, where some 75 of my distant relatives were outright murdered by them, and roughly 3/4 of my paternal grandfather’s family was effectively made into serfs for the “Vanguard of the Proletariat” in Moscow for 3 generations.

Be sure that I give not a single $hit what the Collectivists say about my right to speak my mind - I will do so as and when I please, whether they like it or not (and gleefully when they don’t, just because). If they want to stop me, they are welcome to try - and they might succeed because, after all, I alone certainly cannot stop the large forces of history from acting upon this country...but, unlike the last go-around in Europe in the ‘20s-’40s, this time it won’t be for free.

“People are finally realizing that, but it may be too late.”

I think the reason they’re so out there about it all, these days, is they think it IS too late.

God willing, it’s NOT too late, they’ve overplayed their hand, and are about to get thoroughly CREAMED, with losses at the polls being only the merest beginning of the brewing, nationwide blowback.

It sounds like that 47% should be sent to China or N. Korea permanently.

If that many Democrats want to silence any spoken dissent start calling for people who disagree with them be rounded up for the good of the country? And do they expect it to be peaceable? Are they that stupid or are planning on using the DOJ as a huge death squad?

We’re up against totalitarians. These people are Marxists and neo-Marxists who are naturally appalled on opinions other than theirs.

Oh, I know that we have some geezers here, but there also seem to be quite a few mentioning growing up when Klintoon was POTUS, or saying that they were in grade school when 9/11 occurred.
