A New York judge on Tuesday found former President Trump liable for fraud, handing a major legal victory to New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) in her sprawling civil case over Trump’s businesses.
New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron granted James’s request to find Trump liable for the first of seven causes of action she has accused him of in the lawsuit.
Engoron simultaneously denied Trump’s demand to toss the entire suit without trying the case. The non-jury trial on the remaining matters is set to begin Monday, barring Trump’s separate, last-minute effort for a delay.
Engoron also granted James’s request to sanction five of Trump’s lawyers for bringing up already-dismissed arguments in court, ordering them to pay a $7,500 fine each.

A smart operator will also do the reverse to determine guesstimate value of gross capital.

FYI - "Supreme Court" in New York state refers to the highest court in that particular jurisdiction.
It does NOT refer to the highest appellate court in New York state.
Then most of the real estate brokers in the world need to up for fraud charges for selling real estate that has faults. How many buildings become money pits with hidden problems, tricks to mask issues, and inflated wonders that the building is.
And kill any hope of finding a lawyer to represent him.

Nor was Trump considered a racist, sexist, or homophobe PRIOR to running for President. The NeverTrumpers (Ukraine War supporters) don’t seem to ever notice that little detail.
Some lawsuit details:
Among the allegations were that Trump claimed his Trump Tower apartment in Manhattan — a three-story penthouse replete with gold-plated fixtures — was nearly three times its actual size and valued the property at $327 million. No apartment in New York City has ever sold for close to that amount, James said.
Trump valued Mar-a-Lago as high as $739 million — more than 10 times a more reasonable estimate of its worth. Trump’s figure for the private club and residence was based on the idea that the property could be developed for residential use, but deed terms prohibit that, James said.
Trump: “Do you know the banks were fully paid? Do you know the banks made a lot of money?” Trump testified. “Do you know I don’t believe I ever got even a default notice, and even during COVID, the banks were all paid? And yet you’re suing on behalf of banks, I guess. It’s crazy. The whole case is crazy.”

I don’t know if Trump committed any of the cited events but fraud is a crime.
My credit union had an appraisal done on my house but they don’t work on commission.

I can say my house is worth 4 million..bank appraisers come and appraise it, I can say its worth whatever I damn well please, but its up to them to decide for sure
