An atheist advocacy group is attacking state-owned Auburn University for the role three of its coaches played in an evangelical Christian worship event at the Alabama school last week.
The “Unite Auburn” event on Sept. 12 was held in the school’s Neville Arena, with the rent funded by private donations. About 200 students were baptized after the event in a small lake on campus, illuminated by automobile headlights.
Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze, who formerly helmed the squad at Liberty University, the nation’s largest evangelical Christian school, baptized one of his players that night.

Atheists, like liberals, are doing the bidding of their lord, Satan, in eradicating the influence of Jesus Christ in America.
What a surprise that those stupid about theology would also be stupid about the Constutution.
The world unites against Christ and The Lord.
They embrace everything else, but HATE Jesus.
This is exactly how you know He’s Real, as is your faith.
That’s not a coincidence.
Someone should tell FFR to bugger off. Adults do as they please.
How many people are in this advocacy group? The media gives them too much power.
The God-haters are at it again. Why are they scared so sh*tless of somebody who they say doesn’t exist?
I have zero religious beliefs whatsoever but I find it mysterious that anyone would object to another’s opinion on the subject. I think the first amendment is as sacred as the second. No one should force a gun into someone’s hand nor demand it be confiscated. Similarly no one should force religion on another nor should religious observance by another be stopped.
These folks need to get a grip.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has already told the group to pound sand.
Ditto.
Atheists: Spreaders of hate and despair.
But professors can preach atheism and denigrate religion and faith in the classroom, that’s fine.
And as they age, their desperation grows more acute. They instinctively know they’re liars, and are terrified of the consequences.
We get CRT and twisted sexual perversion rammed down our throats but mentioning Christian values stirs up the haters’ outrage and indignation like it’s a crime against humanity. To hell with them!
Bingo! The depth and pervasiveness of evil made a believer out of me. Satan is real which, for me, proved the divinity of Y’shua.
No, they can denigrate Christianity in the classroom with impunity. But the moment they say anything derogatory about islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, etal., they are in deep trouble.
The First Amendment only limits one group of people; The Congress.
Read it:
Amendment I (1791)
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Individuals, states, and local governments are not limited. Congress is and Congressmen are not limited from having religious objects or expressing religious opinions. Cities, state governments, and Federal lands and buildings are not prohibited from having the Ten Commandments or a cross or a menorah or a crescent moon and star or manger scene. Prohibiting these are a misinterpretation of the First Amendment.
State and local governments could even specify or ban religions if their constituting documents don’t prohibit it.
Too many people have never read the Constitution and do not know that most of what the Federal Government is doing is not Constitutional.
PRIVATE EVENT-—NOT PAID FOR WITH STATE MONEY—
SOME PEOPLE JUST NEED TO SHUT UP.
“...professors can preach atheism and denigrate religion and faith in the classroom...”
And that type of professor is very common, even at Auburn, and other deep South universities.
But the Christian event created real excitement. And what a turnout of campus VIPs! The head football coach was there, the head basketball coach was there, and the heartthrob starting quarterback was there. Our basketball coach, Bruce Pearl is from Jewish stock but is a follower of Christ.
