Xi has gotten rid of anyone who might threaten his rule. As usual this means that he’s gotten rid of anyone who is competent. The next step will be more executions as the toadies and sycophants who are left fail at their tasks. Just the same old totalitarian playbook.

I think Zeihan has been predicting this for over 10 years. Could be a real thing, but so far it hasn’t happened. And, on another note, from what I can tell, Zeihan thinks Biden is pretty decent president — but he doesn’t have a single good thing to say about Trump. I consider Zeihan to be Deep State.

I like Zeihan, but I keep wondering if he is as smart as he and his team think they are.
China is facing a demographic collapse. So is the rest of the developed world. China is, however, ruthless.

I watched this video this morning. Peter Zeihan has been predicting the downfall of China for over a year. One of the key points he mentions again in this video is the fact they have reported a decrease in their population of 100 MILLION people.
This is all a result of the One Child policy along with the fact that Xi is now a completely insulated dictator. Anyone who gives him bad news meets their maker. So, no one wants to be the bearer of bad news to Xi.
Their unemployment of young people is starting to rival Italy’s. Somewhere in the 30% range do not have a job.
Manufacturing is leaving to go to other Asian countries.

Perhaps not totally, but they can be made extremely unpopular.
At the end of the day though, no matter how many people you murder, when people get hungry enough, the dictator will fall.
Leaves China with fewer than 400 Million by 2100.
