Elon Musk Loathes Trump, New Book Reveals: ‘Champion of Bullshit’
Mediaite ^

Posted on 09/12/2023 7:59:41 PM PDT by GulliverSwift

In December 2016, Musk had a private meeting with Trump, during which he was “baffled” by the then-president-elect’s comments about Tesla and NASA.

“He seems kind of nuts,” Musk said after the meeting, according to Isaacson, “but he may turn out okay.”

On the contrary: Musk “concluded that Trump as president was no different than he was as a candidate,” Isaacson wrote. “The buffoonery was not just an act.”

“Trump might be one of the best bullshitters ever,” Musk told Isaacson. “If you just think of Trump as a sort of con-man performance, then his behavior sort of makes sense.”

... Musk told Isaacson that Trump should remain banned from Twitter if he was “engaged in criminal activity” — and even said he believed Trump was.

“I want to avoid the bullshit disputes about Trump,” Musk said. “If he’s engaged in criminal activity — it seems increasingly that he has — that’s not okay.”

“It’s not free speech to subvert democracy,” Musk said.

Then one day, in a “feisty mood” according to Isaacson, Musk posted a poll asking if Trump should be reinstated. The poll was close but the ayes had it, and Musk promised to reinstate the former president.

“I’m not Trump’s fan,” Musk told Isaacson that day. “He’s disruptive. He’s the world’s champion of bullshit.”

From what I’ve heard Chinese car sales are stagnant due to the high cost. Not sure if it’s true.

Yeah, Musk didn't start PayPal. Max Levchin, Peter Thiel, and Luke Nosek in December 1998 as Confinity, a company that developed security software for hand-held devices. Having had no success with that business model, however, it switched its focus to a digital wallet. The first version of the PayPal electronic payments system was launched in 1999.

In March 2000, Confinity merged with x.com, an online financial services company founded in March 1999 by Elon Musk, Harris Fricker, Christopher Payne, and Ed Ho.

I think that was more of a personal vendetta than anything else. But the bottom line has always been, as it is with most wealthy people, he did what he did to enrich himself. Even Donald John Trump. But Trump has a lot more history of him also doing things for other people. He is currently trying to save the nation for the people of this nation, most of whom are nothing but ingrates.

I've heard nothing about Musk doing things for other people. While I applaud him for what he has exposed regarding our government & their suppression of information from the public, I believe he has knowledge of a lot more activity that he hasn't revealed.

But his being in bed with the CCP is a lot more telling than anything else about him. For he is in bed with evil.

Hot garbage sells books.

At their worst the remarks are chatter....

It’s the censorship that is pernicious and Musk has fought it.

False. Musk is not a psychopath like those on the RAT left.

I said, the last thing Tesla wants is cheap gas. Musk as a businessman knows what a Trump admin will do to gas prices. Cheap gas means less demand for EV’s.

Musk said himself that the grid can’t support EVs for all. He doesn’t want EVs for all.

Yes I know. The article is, “Musk loathes Trump” and one of those reasons is Trump will bring down gas prices thereby lessening the demand for EV’s.

Walter Seff Isaacson (born May 20, 1952) is an American author, journalist, and professor. He has been the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan policy studies organization based in Washington, D.C., the chair and CEO of CNN, and the editor of Time.

***********************************************************

The above is only a small, indeed very small, part of Isaacson’s LIBERAL path through his long life. I agree with what you say about supporting Musk’s good points and Trumps good points but anybody who believes anything that Isaacson says needs a therapist.

There’s no bigger group of liars, Trump haters and Marxists on earth than CNN and Isaacson was their leader for years. Then he moved on to the Aspen Institute whose main money men and groups are radical lefties and America haters.

What Musk thinks is meaningless all he’s in charge of is his company not a country.

He would be on the low end of the list to select from.

He has a lot of me me me in himself.

Irrelevant & immaterial as to the goodness of Elon Musk. The fact that he provides jobs for people who can do what he can’t do in order for him to accumulate more wealth, has little bearing on his goodness. But partnering with the CCP does mean he is willing to support evil for his own personal gain.

Well, he does have degrees in physics and economics so I’m guessing he’s not having any trouble understanding engineering.

Reagan was not a war monger, nut shooting wars continued during his terms. I am sure you recall what happened in Lebanon. There were NO shooting wars during Trump.

You are gas lighting about woke military. Trump did not encourage woke military. Trump’s focus was to rebuild military infrastructure dismantled by Barack Hussein Obama.

But I admire Trump most for the lowest inflation, lowest gas prices (inflation adjusted), lowest unemployment for minority Americans, and biggest tax cut in history.

Reagan TRIPLED federal spending in 8 years. Speaker O’Neill played Reagan like a fiddle. The drop in inflation during Reagan must be ENTIRELY CREDITED to FED Chair Paul Volcker. Even Reagan’s tripling federl spending was kept under control by suprer-brave actions of Volcker.

Reagan was not a war monger,

The Hawks despised Reagan after he agreed to meet with Gorby in Reykjavik. They felt betrayed.
