The RAF's fleet of combat aircraft is so small it would be wiped out if Britain went to war against Vladimir Putin, according to a parliamentary report.
There are so few Typhoon jets and F-35s that the fleet could not withstand the 'levels of attrition' that would occur.
The UK has just 169 frontline jets to Russia's 1,500 and, after repeated post-Cold War cutbacks, our fleet is also smaller than that of our European allies.

Hyperbole on your part.
There is a good reason for that: Central Europe would be the battleground into which the enemy's land forces would be pouring.
Not an enviable position!
Europe is our "beach head."
Any non-nuclear conflict with Russia would be carried out 90% in Europe.
Pity the Europeans in whose homelands this conflict would be carried out!
Regards,
I read this as saying “We must spend another $400Billion$ on weapons despite our crashing economy, raging unemployment, out of control housing costs, double digit inflation, mass illegal immigration....my boys need a new yacht.”
“Harry Jerry, box his kite, right in the how’s your father?!’’
Not to mention draining the alcohol coolant out of the jet engines to get drunk and what ever else the Russkies steal to buy more vodka.
Sounds like the RAF is in better shape than the Royal Navy. 4 ballistic missile subs, 6 attack subs, two “aircraft carriers”, 6 destroyers, 11 frigates, 2 amphibious transport docks - that’s the blue water Royal Navy.
And no way to build up.
Peace dividend
Add up NATO for us and see how many you get that can survive the environment in Ukraine?
Take out the airfields and see where they land and takeoff.
Hyperbole!
Oh, wait!
Regards,
“the US spends more on defense than the rest of NATO combined and then some”
If you measure in just total spent, sure, but that’s not how the chart you posted is measuring. That’s measuring proportional spending compared to GDP, and by that measure, the US certainly doesn’t spend very much more than any other NATO member.
The good news is that the US Air Force is vastly larger and more capable than the Russian Air Force (we have twice as many planes!) A few other NATO Air Forces are also perfectly capable of messing up the Russians. Sorry you keep backing losers, foreigner.
“...is currently grounded at a 50% or higher rate in most cases”
And when you have almost 5 times the air power of Russia, that doesn’t really matter much.
Compared to Russia, which is in an even greater state of decay? Certainly yes.
There will not be a need for the Air Force in the so called next war so it’s doesn’t matter.
What alternate universe are you in? The Air Force, like Carriers, will not be a factor in another war. Drones will be used for the most part, it will an automated video game war.
First thing to go in a World War are the satellites.
Lol, what? Is that why Sweden and Finland just joined NATO (both of which have modern and capable air forces specifically designed to fight the Russians).
Many here just sit by their phone waiting for 1980 to call.
In 1980, we were worried that Russia would invade its European neighbors, today it is.
The bad news is Russia is much more reckless now than it was then. The good news is that we are stronger and they are much weaker than either party was in 1980.
