Gun violence has been declared a public health emergency in New Mexico following the death of an 11-year-old boy.
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham made the announcement following the death of a young boy in a shooting on a highway. Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina confirmed in a press briefing that a boy was killed and a second woman was taken to hospital in critical condition. They were attacked while traveling westbound on Avenida Cesar Chavez near University Boulevard. Neither of the victims have been named.

The 'health emergency' is a trial balloon.
The statement by Ted Lieu suggests that the cat was let out of the bag too early.
This is part and parcel of the WHO pandemic 'treaty'.
Watch for this to be attempted with IC vehicles or any 'carbon', alcohol consumption, meat consumption, and political persuasion.
The outright refusal by sheriffs and the general population is heartening, but watch for some examples ti be made to punish their defiance.
The question that is often asked is 'how do we stop this?'
Well, there is continued non compliance, and working to oust the tyrants (legally, of course).
But the elephant in the room is why you're seeing the ATF 'rule' on private sellers, Operation Choke Point in different incarnations, recent raids that end up with the subject deceased, and the treatment of Jan 6rs and what seems to be an ever widening orbit.

It starts with the cops, as they're the people who are ordered to enforce these unconstitutional leftist laws and policies. The cops are the muscle and hired guns for government at all levels.
Why are the cops and or prosecutors not stepping up to the GD microphones declaring they will not enforce these laws and policies that harm and strip rights away from law abiding Americans? Same with pandering to illegal alien criminals?

That would be an inconvenient fact.
It’s been said that if murders committed by black males between 18 and 34 were taken out of the equation, our murder rate would be lower than that of Switzerland. We have a serious sociological/cultural problem.
The only reason gun violence is increasing is there is no punishment for criminal acts any more. I believe if there was a 10 year hard labor prison sentence for a gun crime committed with no injury, a 20 year hard labor prison sentence for a gun crime involving innocent victims getting injured and a mandatory death penalty for a gun crime when an innocent victim is a fatality. Of course the Democrats won’t back that because they need those votes.
We don’t have to debate hypotheticals here. The country has been through this before. We have historical evidence. It’s called Prohibition.
In 1920 it was decided that alcohol was a public health hazard. Therefore, alcohol was banned.
End result? Law-abiding people had no alcohol. But anyone who wanted to break the law could get all the booze they wanted.
A firearms prohibition would turn out the exact same way.
