Is the Republican race for presidential nominee over before any votes are cast? Some people sure would like it to be.
“It’s over!” Trump supporters declare with the assured enthusiasm of a Mets fan at spring training.
This is our year! No unforeseen injuries will cripple our chances! We’re going all the way!
A closer look at the numbers shows a ballgame very much in progress.
There’s no doubt Trump is a unique political phenomenon.
He makes people feel something. They vote with their heart for Trump. He’s magnetic.
But just as magnets attract, they repel.
Yes, Trump is polling far ahead of his competition.
But he also has been president already, has 100% name recognition and is only managing about half his party’s support.
The comparison shouldn’t be to candidates in past elections but to incumbents. And by that metric he’s getting smoked.
If Joe Biden had only 50% of the Democratic Party’s support, he’d be shoved off the stage before Democrats could even figure out how to avoid getting stuck with Kamala Harris.
And most of the polls you see in the news are national polls, and we do not have national elections.
The RealClearPolitics polling average has Trump at 43% in Iowa and 44% in New Hampshire, both states that vote in January.
If a candidate not named Donald Trump manages to win both Iowa and New Hampshire, it will be an entirely new ballgame by the time South Carolina votes the following month. Trump is at 45% there.

A bunch do
You never know
Well, here's his problem -- Youngkin is the nearly unassailable presidential candidate in 2028 as TrumpII's VP.
Now, nothing prevents VP Youngkin from bringing DeSantis aboard as his VP in 2028.
Actually, Trump 2024 is running in a pro-GOP Senate map.
But you are waayyy too busy dissembling your Ronlim stupidity, because you are weak, intellectually lame, like your candidate.
The days of Bush-style Republicanism are over.
Haven’t seen any mention of that. Thanks for the link.
Who but Republican establishment operative believes that nonsense?
Apparently, you haven't been paying attention. The Soviet-style charges have IMPROVED his poll numbers. Blacks were on the streets in Atlanta cheering him motorcade as he passed through.
Anyone that finds the charges against Trump the least bit acceptable is the enemy.
The charges are an attempt the oligarchy controlling both parties to interfere in the 2024 election and eliminate the one candidate that isn't under their control.
Resisting that attempt is truly a hill worth dying on. Free and fair elections and the concept of a representative republic are hanging in the balance.
I'd sooner see a civil war or state secession that allow elections to continue to be rigged or the criminal justice system used to try and takeout candidates the powers that be can't control.
You damn well better start understanding the gravity of the situation.
You want to play that polling game, people can just point out that Haley is doing better vs. Biden than Trump is.
That is absurd. First of all, no one cares about the VP nomination, even Kaine didn't influence Cankles loss.
The whole point of TrumpII bringing Youngkin aboard as VP is to (a) flip Virginia; and (b) give the GOP a way to absorb a non-Trump future with a good Governor (unlike Meatball) who has feet firmly planted in MAGA yet takes non-MAGA phone calls.
OR, you could just piss off again for a long time lofl...
One of my favorite recent posts..."Let's just start with Haley.80s sinister rouge, limp hair with shitty coloring over the grey roots makes her look like an unhappy Afghan Hound.
A low-key drag-goth outfit, also 80s, that doesn't fit her anywhere. And fugly shoeboots to boot.
SLAY, QWEEN YOU STUPID RINO B---H. YOUR PHARMACY CALLED THEY'RE ALL OUT OF YOUR OZEMPIC. TRUMP WANTS TO BUY YOU A BIG MAC AND FRIES LOFL!
Bookmarking. Good luck!
Good for you. I’m actually surprised at some of the vocal Freepers who turn out to not be registered Republicans
````````````````````````````
My state and 16 others does not register voters by party affiliation. I’ve seen Texans, on this forum, declare themselves to be life long registered republicans.
