The Reason the DOJ Asked for Leniency for a BLM Protester Who Killed a Man Is Simply Unbelievable

On Tuesday, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in the unrest on January 6th. Convicted of seditious conspiracy, Tarrio, who was not present at the Capitol, pleaded for leniency but received none.

The same wasn't true for a Black Lives Matter protester who set fire to a pawn shop after looting it in May 2020. Montez Lee, who appeared on video proclaiming that he was going to "burn this ***** down" ended up killing Oscar Stewart, who found himself trapped in the blaze. Stewart, who died of smoke inhalation, left behind five children.

Given that Lee had a long criminal history, you would think a harsh sentence would be in order. Instead, the DOJ turned into his biggest advocate.

Here's what the government's sentencing memo to the judge stated.

We are already in a civil war, but only one side is fighting.

"The Reason the DOJ Asked for Leniency for a BLM Protester Who Killed a Man Is Simply Unbelievable"

...... Unbelievable???? .... After everything we have learned over the past number of years ... We still find this "Unbelievable?" We really need to understand that THIS is what a post Constitutional system governed by ESG looks like!!!! .... The answer to how two perpetrators received such different treatment is absolutely simple!!!

..... Answer: Montez Lee who burned the Pawn Shop down killing it's occupant .... Was ESG Compliant by fighting for an ESG Sanctioned Cause!

..... It's time for us to wake up and smell the smoke of what used to be our Constitution and understand that this is what our new future will hold if we don't stop being a Dysfunctional mess of a Political Party and galvanize together as cohesive force to stop this crap.

... Remember ..... The number of votes we will need to beat this in 2024 will be well over 81 Million votes! There is no room for error in this  election. There simply won't be a Next Time .... This so called "Great Experiment" will be over ..... And a Great Tribulation for us will be upon us .....

OK, so just be irritated, then.

I find it irritating that people post articles with a “tease”
(”the reason ... is simply unbelievable”)
but then do not include the tease in their summary.

That is little more than just posting a Rick-Roll link.

Michael Byrd murdered Ashley Babbit on Jan 6.

The murder was ignored. He was recently promoted to the rank of Captain in the US Capitol Police force.

Michael Byrd is black. Ashley Babbit is white.

What if the races were the opposite? A white cop killed a black woman for no damn reason, with no warning?

I’m not certain, but I think EVERYONE would know Michael Byrd’s name.

“If King were alive today, he’d support AOC, BLM and Antifa.”

You state that as a fact.
What brought you to that conclusion?

Stating that frustrated people will riot is not the same as saying they shouldn’t face consequences for doing so.

WHY ??? The victim was black....

Yeah, but he wasn't following the CIA's orders to riot like the rest of them, so he needed to die as an example.

Don't wander off reservation!

Turns out his name full was: "Oscar Lee Stewart Jr".

Seem I had inadvertently mistaken his middle name for his last when writing my comment...but what I said was still technically a correct version of his name albeit a bit too familiar for someone who does not know him....so I get a pass for the mistake right?

And the DOJ members that asked for leniency were of what political persuasion and melanotic composition?

Various King quotes I've heard over the years. Conservative cherry pick that favorite "content of character" quote. But King said much else over the years.

You can paint King from radical left to classical liberal, depending on which quotes you cherry pick.

Here are a few other MLK quotes:

“The evils of capitalism are as real as the evils of militarism and racism. The problems of racial injustice and economic injustice cannot be solved without a radical redistribution of political and economic power”.

“I think America must see that riots do not develop out of thin air. Certain conditions continue to exist in our society which must be condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots. In the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard."

“White Americans must recognize that justice for black people cannot be achieved without radical changes in the structure of our society.”

“Again we have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that Capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifice. The fact is that capitalism was built on the exploitation and suffering of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor – both black and white, both here and abroad.”

If those rioting were poor white coal miners who lost their jobs because of government regulations, would the TPTB apply the same standard to them?

No.

My instincts tell me that if Dr. King were alive today, by now he would have recognized that JFK used him like a tool to accomplish the goal that LBJ realized.

None of those “cherry-picked” quotes convince me of your declaration.
They don’t even support your conclusion.
Context is king!
Once King would have heard LBJ is “, “I’ll have those….”—
He’d have reevaluated his party loyalty.
