He’d have reevaluated his party loyalty.
But the spectrum of permissible opinion has moved far to the left. I believe King would have moved with it, like most black leaders and Democratic politicians.
Pick almost any Democratic politician of 60 years ago. They would almost all sound like far-right Republicans today.
