Is it time for Republicans to take Nikki Haley seriously?
According to a new Emerson College Polling survey, “Haley saw the largest increase in support among Republican candidates, jumping 5 points from 2 percent to 7 percent” following last week’s debate.
“Nikki Haley’s support increased from about 2 percent to 9 percent among voters over 50 [years of age],” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, “while Trump’s support dropped within this age group from about 56 percent to 49 percent after the debate.”
This jump is modest, inasmuch as it still leaves Haley in the single digits. But it’s also no outlier. According to a poll conducted by The Washington Post, FiveThirtyEight, and Ipsos released last Thursday, voters were persuaded to at least give her a second look. “Pre-debate, 29 percent of GOP primary voters who watched the debate said they were considering voting for her,” according to the survey, “and that increased to 46 percent after the debate.”
So how did she do it? Haley caught our attention by being first to hit Trump (from the right), when she criticized him for “adding eight trillion to our debt.” This surprised everyone, demonstrated courage, and put to rest the notion that she is merely running to be Trump’s vice president.

[LOL. These people are delusional.]
They have been for a long, long time.
The believed ALL the lies about “the Steele Dossier” - there was also an article there with the sentence: “Michelle Obama is widely-recognized as one of the most beautiful women in the world”.
They need to be delusional to believe that a guy putting on a dress magically turns into a woman. There is no cure for such delusions. Their minds have to be reprobate.
ASHE IS NOT ELIGIBLE & SHE KNOWS IT.
SHE IS NOT ELIGIBLE & SHE KNOWS IT.
No, but they were so thrilled to have him and Romney, one
can only surmise their desires.
” jumping 5 points from 2 percent to 7 percent””
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no... she’s not.
I’m trying not to laugh, but it’s hard.
Get a grip.
Agree.
You have reminded me that many of the founders used words in much the same manner ad an artist uses a color palette, to paint lush and vivid images for the mind, while often stimulating reciprocal eloquence. I often marvel at their ability to illustrate concepts with prose as a painter would depict a landscape using inks.
I often consider advocating for a hefty fine for the public and inappropriate use of the word “like” and “totally”, particularly by public officials!!!
In the last two days I have watched two Western movies that the critics lauded for using language like it really was in the ‘old west’, Somewhat Flowery, Formal, Polite and ‘Pointed’. (Bone Tomahawk and Appaloosa)
(Although in Appaloosa, Ed Harris’ character was often at a loss for the correct pronunciation of words he was trying to use, and had to ask his more well read Deputy (Viggo Mortensen) what the word he was intending to use.
I agree with your assessment of those flicks, and I would like to offer for your perusal Ripper Street, a BBC TV series depicting a post Jack the Ripper Victorian era Whitechapel starring Matthew McFadden.
The language is wonderfully erudite and formal, and even the poorly educated “lower” classes display a fine command of the English language, and most of them copiously interspace their utterances with religious and biblical quotes, asides, and allusions.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha oh stop it my sides hurt.
Please go away and think of something else as stupid as this to laugh at.
The ones the USSC decided in favor of.
Yeh, sure! 😂😂
A young couple comes to America hoping to become citizens. They are childless. They go through the process, file the paperwork and wait until all conditions are met. In the waiting period the couple has a baby.
I think that baby should be eligible to run for president, even though the parents are not U.S. citizens…yet.
.
What, did you get a dictionary for Christmas? /joke
You are, of course, right. Nicely said.
Nope. Besides, nothing says that they were here legally anyway. The simple fact is he was born of two non-citizen parents. I will never vote for him or others in his situation.
Baris’s latest FL poll is devastating. DeSoros loses every single demographic group.
