New polling released after the GOP presidential debate shows an age gap when it comes to Ron DeSantis supporters.
A Léger survey conducted Wednesday and Thursday in conjunction with the New York Post shows that while DeSantis has 9% support overall (52 points behind Donald Trump, but in second place nonetheless), there is an age gap.
Voters 54 years old or younger are much less likely to back the Florida Governor’s 2024 bid for the Republican nomination than those 55 and up.
Among voters 18 to 34 years of age, DeSantis’ 5% puts him behind Mike Pence’s 6% and in a tie with Vivek Ramaswamy. Trump is at 58% with this group.
Among voters 35 to 54 years of age, DeSantis is still at 5%, putting him 3 points behind Ramaswamy with that cohort, and 59 points behind Trump’s 64% with this cohort.

DeSantis is too close to the RINO/uniparty. They own him. Republicans who are not independently wealthy are too vulnerable to bribery by big interest groups. Right now only Trump and Ramaswamy are outside that evil influence circle.
Sounds accurate. 5% of the base is about the strength of the Neoconservative slice of the political pie.

against Trump. He did not have the moral ability to say no.
These donors won’t come back to him in 2028.

My prediction is that once Santis gets booted from the presidential primary due to his poor performance that he will turn into just another RINO base-hating jagbag.

But we are repeatedly told (despite the polling spread between Trump and desantis) that desantis is the only one that can win in the general.
I think he needs to pack it in, go home and deal with the aftermath of this hurricane. But then again I’m simply one of them realists.
We are watching the crumbling of America and its moral righteousness. DeSantis is a near perfect example of someone who came from a middle class family, worked his way through college, served in the US armed forces, and implemented true conservative policies while Congressman and Governor. No multiple wives, no accepting of the homo sickness, no cheating on taxes, no MTV crib like houses, or gluttony. A great man and a great leader. Put aside for fluff, and pomp, and the glamorous, sinful life.
And still he won’t GTFO! 🙄
